Wha d'ya mean? Last year, he sang during Shane's karaoke night, didn't he? LOL RA said he defended well but couldn't get any defensive boards. He was a good teammate though, always the first to assist the injured players off the court.
The Rockets knew exactly who Jefferies is and what he brings to the table. He is a good defensive veteran role player. If this team was built around McGrady/Yao, Jefferies could have been extremely useful. However, the front office and coaching staff knew that if this team was going to go anywhere without Yao, guys like Hill, Budinger, Patterson had to take a step forward and become a special talent. Playing Jefferies could have won the Rockets a game or two more, but would have stumped the growth of Hill and Patterson especially. Looking back, I kind of wish they would have played him more after Christmas. They could have really used his defense on games like the loss against Minnesota and Philly, but it was a gamble they felt like they needed to take. Jefferies is actually a good veteran to have, he was just on the wrong team.
