Sure would be nice to see TJ and Moti get a little run. Something must have happened between their preseason on-court performances and practice. C'mon McHale, you can do it! And next time you want to call Douglas's number, try Machado instead.

we should see what we have at the NBA level in White and Jones first as I think they would be good fits with Harden and Lin and good fits for the.futue NBA which is headed towards a position less league

I really think Milsap is the way to go. Cousins and Aldridge are most likely staying put, Favors is not proven, and Smith is a complete moron who refuses to stop shooting outside shots even though he is a horrible shooter.

    Yeah, no.

We need a bonafied star or a player who can become a star, to pair up with James Harden, and Milsap doesn't fill in neither of those two requirements.

Also don't overlook the Cousins situation in Sacramento, they continue to lose and he's not getting very many touches. Cousins demanding a trade could be just around the corner.

Cousins screams Stromile Swift to me... as in, clueless player who has good intentions to become better, but doesn't have the brains.

Look, guys, we need to get an all star. Not a potential player, not a good player. An all star. Because after this big name acquisition Rockets have no more cap space for another key player. If we get a "good" player or someone who has the POTENTIAL to be a good player or play TJones/D-Mo, we won't be contender. 1st/2nd round exit. Nothing will change.

D.Cousins, J.Smith, P.Millisap, Derrick Favors, Derrick Williams, Pau Gasol, Al Horford are all nice names but all that is needed is Ryan Anderson type of player for SPACING, rebounds and play some D. We may have that player already on the team. IMO we need say pat and play this season out AND let the RGV do their job.

Stop trying to put an all-star at ever spot on the floor --> there is only one ball.
Keep the ball in Lin/Harden's hands.

It's not that I think he is an all star, I just think he is the best player the Rockets will be able to get.

Cousins doesn't belong in the discussion based on character concerns alone.

Any player who demands to get released from his rookie(!) contract and schemes to get coach after coach fired has no place on the Rockets.

I disagree I think, from watching him play, Cousins has a very high BBall IQ, but I also think his emotions and immaturity still get the better of him. This at times can slow down his progress, but not stop it. I mean did he go from averaging 14 ppg and 8 rpg to 18 ppg and 11 rpg. That's something Stromile never did...

I get that, but if Milsap is the best we can do on the current trade market, then I'd rather stand pat, and see if one of our young guys develops into something good.

After all these WHICH POWER FORWARD TO PURSUE threads, post-Harden trade, it seems that a lot of people will be surprised when Morey trades for and extends a sleeper wing player who can help spread the floor for Lin and Harden instead.

3-way trade... adding Derrick Williams and Derrick Favors would make our team more younger and more talented

We have no assets to trade for a star... And teams usually don't trade away their stars. We probably won't get who we need to compete this year in a trade or next off season in a FA signing. We have to think more long term with this team - get more assets, good contracts and draft picks and always be ready to pull the trigger when the opportunity arises. Now is Morey time - because that is what he does best.

If harden and Lin continue doing what they are doing and improving, the Rockets will be real attractive for other players again - be patient and let Morey do his thing...

The Harden trade should tell us never to completely cross off top, young talent from the potential trade list, but... I do believe the Jazz are locking in Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter as their frontcourt of the future and are more likely to trade Paul Millsap and/or Al Jefferson.

One added wrinkle in all this is that Kevin McHale is a big Al Jefferson fan dating back to their time with Minnesota.

The former already worked extensively with the latter on post moves and footwork. It's why to this day, Al Jefferson is a excellent back to the basket post player in an era when those skills are disappearing among NBA bigs.

Personally, I would hate the addition of Al Jefferson. He's never been the same player since his ACL and other injuries sidelined him and sidetracked his development. And while his post game allows him to thrive in the league, his profound lack of athleticism after the injuries will only hold back a Rockets team looking to run.

I'd go after one of the half dozen PFs we already have on our roster. No need to try to break the bank on a name just because they score points on a bad team that don't have legit bigs and place them in the PF spot.

Noway is Utah letting him go. He was the foundation of the williams deal. in 5 years time he will be a monster.

Starting to wonder. If the Lakers don't get on track, Pau's $19 million over the next two years plus luxury tax is going to look really ugly. They liked Morris in last years draft...

There's not much available in next years FA group, so why not bring Pau in and really develop our young forwards over the next couple of years? Plus, in 2014 he becomes a huge expiring contract.

I think we need to be patient. McHale is being cautious w/ the rooks and giving them a chance to assimilate into the pros, TJ has the skills to be as good or better than some of the players being mentioned here. DMo has a different skills and size that could make that 1-2 PF punch better than any of the options being mentioned. I think we're fine, let's let the season develop and see what happens.

BTW, no thanks to Josh Smith--hate his game.

It's only been 2 games guys. Our guys will get some minutes. Probably trying to get our starting foundation established so we can pick spots to get the rookies in, rather than throwing multiple rookies on the floor at once and making it a clusterrF where nobody learns. Be patient.,
