Haha. Wang just simply hasn't shown the athleticism needed to compete in this league, and he hasn't shown the toughness of Yao (and Yao is far from tough).

There is not a roster spot available for Wang. He simply is not better than anyone on the Rockets 12-man roster.

If I was going to sign another CBA'er, it would be Meng Bateer over Zhi Zhi. Not that I would sign Bateer, but I just wanted to post my observations that Bateer has made a better transition to the NBA than Zhi Zhi. Of the three (are there more??) Chinese basketball players in the league, all PF and C I might add, Bateer has shown the most ability to deal with and adapt to the more physical nature of the NBA. That alone of course does not make him a better player than Yao, but it makes him more attractive to me than Zhi Zhi.

Yeah I really wouldn't mind having Bateer, he fouls a lot though. He hardly even plays. Next year we should get him instead of Alton Ford. Then the Rockets would be really popular in China.

They why is Yao a #1 overall pick, NBA starter, and an All Star while Wang isn't even in the league?

What has Wang done in the NBA? If we sign him how many more games will we win? The guy has been in the NBA for several years now and has not shown he's anything more than a decent player.

Even we sign him for 0 dollars, you still have to waive someone else in the team so that he can join. Tell me which Rox center or power forward Wang is better than?

You know... I could be wrong, but WZZ's skill sets would make him a better than Mo Taylor. The similarities are astounding actually.

Even though it doesn't answer all your questions... I would have to say the height....
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But no way is WZZ comparable to Yao, Yao is better Now Period

Actually Wang's a chubbier (mo T atleast looks good this year), slower, less athletic Mo T with no back to the basket move. He might be able to shoot the 15-20 footer better, but not enough to warrant a spot on ANY NBA team.

MIAMI (AP) -- The Miami Heat signed center Wang Zhizhi to a multiyear contract Monday and waived forward Tyrone Hill. Terms of Zhizhi's contract were not released.

Zhizhi had been waived Nov. 21 by the Los Angeles Clippers. The 7-foot-1, 284-pound native of China appeared in 43 games in parts of two seasons with the Clippers, averaging 4.3 points. He had four points and one block in two games this season while playing behind Predrag Drobnjak and rookie Chris Kaman.

Zhizhi became the first NBA player from China when he signed with Dallas in April 2001.

Hill signed with the Heat on Nov. 7. He appeared in five games, averaging 1.8 points and 1.6 rebounds.

Reported by nWo34Life in the "NBADISH"
Good move on the part of the Heat he will be better in the East becuase he sure as hell sucked in the west.
