Mo Williams would've been great for us. This is why I hate Morey, why not get a veteran who you can count on???
eh I dont hate the guy, I think he's pretty smart and has an eye for diamonds in the rough. I simply disagree with some of his views and philosophies.
Ugh. I agree. Morey never gets vets you can count on. I wish he focused on getting guys like Corey Brewer, Josh Smith, and Dwight Howard. Too bad he sucks, tho.
Darrel Moray: Trades for 38 year old Jason Terry (championship ring) Trades for 37 year old Pablo Prigioni (international championships) Trades for 28 year old and 8 year veteran Corey Brewer (championship ring) Signs 29 year old and 9 year veteran Josh Smith Won't go after veterans you can count on.
i think he knows how to run a franchise better than you do it isn't as easy as saying 'why didn't he get this guy"
Just because he got those guys, doesn't excuse him from addressing the most obvious biggest problem for our team!
Since he didn't get us any guy you can consistently playing as a back-up PG, getting Mo Williams early might have been the way to go.
Our biggest issues keeping us from being a contender are backup PG & legit size at backup center. Now we're stuck with a 40yr old journeyman & Joey Dorsey Mo Williams could've very well been missing piece to the puzzle
But why fire on Mo Williams if you reasonably expect to be able to get someone better? If Mo Williams had been up for grabs at the deadline Morey probably would have made a move for him. Not a bad contract, good enough player to make an impact, etc. Unfortunately he was moved early when he wasn't the ideal guy. He is a marginal upgrade but the Rockets really needed a serious upgrade.
Honestly if Morey paid more attention to getting a PG in the offseason, we wouldn't have to go through the scrap heap at the deadline. I think he overrated Beverly, and didn't go full steam after Lowry because of his chase for Melo and Bosh. And now it's painfully obvious that Beverly as the starting PG just isn't going to get it done
marginal compared to the league overall maybe, but not compared to what we have on the roster. and honestly, the price Mo Williams got moved for didn't require anything that would have prevented us from making other moves.
Well, there plenty of Mo Williams types at the deadline that Morey did not trade for and he would've been a huge upgrade over Terry & Canaan.
Would Mo Williams have been a nice addition? Sure. Would Mo Williams have moved the needle enough to really make a difference? Nope.
