If T-Mac would have kept quiet instead of asking for like 4 or 5 opinions on his knee until after the trade deadline, we probably could have been rid of him. New Jersey only seemed to turn down our trade for Carter once they kept getting more reports about T-Macs bad health. If it took that many opinions to finally say that surgery might be an option, what are the chances that he fails a physical for New Jersey? I feel that he didn't want to be traded to a loser team (who can blame him) and purposefully pushed for an opinion of surgery before the deadline. It would have been an absolute steal to get a healthy Carter for an unusable T-Mac right before the deadline. I could see Carter + Artest + Yao in the WCF versus the Lakers. Now all I see is another first round exit looming. Maybe the deal would have never gone through anyway, but it seemed more and more unlikely with every word that came out of T-Mac's mouth.
tracy's thinking about himself right now. get the surgery. get healthy. and try to come back strong next yr for his contract year. his microfracture surgery is probably not as extensive as others.
yeah im sure if he kept his mouth shut the nets wouldnt give him a physical or anything..i mean its not as if its common practice to do so ...sheesh some people will look for ANY reason to hate tmac
Umm it didn't take a Rocket science for the Nets to figure out he wasn't healthy. All they had to do is watch tape on him all year.
it also kills our other possible deals. Anytime someone knows they need the trade less than you do, the price goes up.
Are you nuts? If T-Mac for VC had gone through real Rockets fans would have been dancing in the streets.
yea tracy would have to pass a physical first bro. but oh yea u probably thinking he's making this up.
no fool would take tracy without getting him checked by doctors, he would have had to get an mri regardless, just like landry when they resigned him, they aren't stupid, they know he has had issues with it and based on his performance this year they weren't going to trust his health without physical proof. we may have been able to include him in a trade before this, but nothing significant would have come out of it, who knows maybe we can still package him to a team desperate for expiring contracts.
If TMac just kept his mouth shut, we possibly could have gotten him for Kobe! Hell, maybe even Lebron!
His MRI was good enough to fool Andrews, one of the foremost experts in the country, to issue a diagnosis that there was no structural damage and that T-Mac should play himself back into shape. Oh wait, Andrews probably wasn't fooled and T-Mac just went shopping for a second opinion to give him the out he wanted. He's been dropping hints about microfracture ever since that Channel 2 news story last week.
You're right. Forget everybody involved. As long as my team gets the best end of the deal, then screw everybody else! .... Professional sports have become pathetic these days. Athletes are now like trading cards. Who cares if this guy needs to have (potentially) career-saving surgery on his knee, let's just get rid of him now and see how much we could screw over everybody else. Or, you know what, let's bring in ANOTHER superstar... run him into the ground... render his body completely useless, and then trade him just because we can!
Exactly. Why would he for sure fail a physical if 75% of the doctors he has seen thus far have said he is structurally sound?
Dude, are you a Rockets fan or a T-Mac fan??? If he was going to have the surgery anyway why not screw over some other team so that the Rockets could benefit? T-Mac could rehab just as easily in Trenton as he could in Houston. And we're talking VC here. Did you not see the game tonight?
surgery was an option. tracy brought it up in his press conference earlier (but that was his last option). he said in that press conference he heard 2 different sides to the story (one good and one bad).
the rockets woudl benefit more next year when he's a MUCH MORE ATTRACTIVE bait. we can get more for him next year my friend.
