So much achy tush. Some guys in here really are dramatic whenever you counter their points. I just don't get it! It's a board about a ball game, not life or death. No need to be so hyper-emotional about things.

He's also overpaid, 28 (old for a point guard) and a coach killer.

if you ever get a chance to get a Chris Paul on your team, you do it, unless you got someone in the Lebron's class.

The addition of Dwight Howard should be the first priority this off-season to give us that 2nd superstar. However, if we have the opportunity to add Chris Paul to that as a 3rd superstar (which I don't think is realistic), then you take that any day over the potential growth of Lin and/or Asik.
That being said, I would be satisfied with DH and building the team around the first 2 guys.

Probably because Chris Paul is (arguably) the best point guard in the league. I hate him for being a flopping ass player but you can't deny his superiority in skills.
I'm just not sure how Harden, Paul, and Howard will work together, considering we have three massive egos where they all want to be the man on the team.
Howard wants his touch despite having a ****ty postgame, Paul needs the ball to operate, and so does Harden, while there's only one ball on the court. One of them needs to sacrifice his game in order to make the trio works.

I'm wondering if adding Paul might become a subtraction by addition. I think that cap space can be spent better on getting a good PF and bench.

Lock for hall of fame, top 5 point guard of all time in his prime making 18 million dollars a year. Yeah sounds overpaid.

This is whats going to happen
KG and Doc will go to the Clippers,
    meaning Chris Paul will stay.
With the addition of KG and Doc, Dwight will accept a sign and trade to the LA Clippers in which the lakers get Blake Griffin in return

I personally know all the parties involved and am 100% certain this will happen

    your welcome

This. Yes, Chris Paul is currently the best PG in the league, and yes, you generally want to be willing to do whatever it takes to get a superstar of his caliber on the team.

But we will be looking at a situation where we already have Harden and Parsons (who I consider a near all-star) and are adding Dwight, with a solid roster including Lin, Asik, and Beverly to fill things out. That is a solid team with no real weaknesses. Do you REALLY think you're going to get CP3 without losing Parsons? If other teams know you are going for broke he will be the price of the deal. And you know you're losing Lin and Asik. To me you've just destroyed your solid team and now have a fantastic trio to build around, but not much to do it with. Sure, it's theoretically possible, but realistically? It's 3 stars and a vet or two + scrubs. You've pissed away all of your flexibility and depth.

No thanks. Give me Howard, lets find a decent PF to pair with him, and let's roll with what we've got. I for one like the idea of having a twin towers possibility and a strong defensive center on court for 48 minutes to anchor things. I am not a huge fan of Lin's but I think with a little work he is perfectly serviceable in that system. And I am getting tired of seeing the roster get blown up every year. We finally have a solid core with good chemistry and a real chance to add that second legit superstar, along with a budding star in Parsons - and we will still have room to make some moves and tweak the team down the road.

I get the temptation to go nuclear and get a superteam. I just don't think it's necessary, or the best move for us at this point.

LAL would never do it, period and simple. They don't want to create a super LAC team. No reason to do it.

honestly Harden does not need the ball to operate. Hell he can come in and play pg for Paul after an early sub. To say CP3 Harden and Dwight won't work nonsense. Harden will give up the ball, the reason why it doesn't seem like it is because Lin just doesn't demand the ball. You see Beverly and Harden? Beverley controls the ball more then Lin!
