I'm just flabergasted at how much work yao does on defense. he has to stop nash's penetration and get back and stop amare. had we had a capebale defensive PG, this was not gonna be a issue. somedays i miss Bobby Sura more then ever. :(

2-3 zone would be ideal. we'll have hayes and yao in the paint with tracy battier and alston guarding the Primeter.

I just think Yao needs to be dominant for 35mins every night. Not 25 not 30, but 35. Foul trouble doesnt help and this problem has lingered throughout the early season. In the 4th qt Yao and Tracy should combine for atleast 20pts. I dont care what else they do, in the 4th they should be the guys to carry the team. not Head,Alston or anyone else. Even when Yao gets double, he should be able to turn and fire anyway and open up the backside rebounding. The Suns double teams are weak as butter and they basically dupe you into thinking you're not open. If you want to prevent teams from doubling yao, let tracy make the entry pass on the same side, now someone will automatically be open. If you commit 3 to thier side, there is 2 guarding 3 on the other side.

I would have to agree with the posters calling out our perimeter defense. It plain sucks donkey nads. We do a good job of guarding the paint but we fail miserably at guarding the PnR and the 3 bawl. That is what aided our loss against the Suns, not to mention Steve Nash is the shiznick at PG. Somehow our players need to do a better job on the perimeter defense in order for our team to be successful.
