Because some people have no patience to let a player grow in to the role. KPJ can be a very good Point if people just let him develop in to the role and not go crazy every game he has a bad one. Averaging nearly 6apg. We are 4-1 when he gets at least 9 assists. He had 32 assists in the three games after the first time he came back from injury. He got hurt against Orlando and now has to get back in to a groove again
I think the most pressing need for the team is a true big man rather than the tweener we have in C Wood. We are attempting to develop KPJ into a serviceable PG, but it will take time. I expect him to develop into the position by the season's end. Too many people bring up his offensive issues but ignore his contributions on defense which have been a net positive for the Rockets. With a true big man on the court we will get more rebounds, improve defensively and create the spacing needed for our guards to shoot uncontested 3 pt shots. Sengun's development is the most important priority for the Rockets IMO.
Are we finished with our roster construction already? Did I miss 3 years of time? So many more years left to build this team out. Y’all gotta have a lil patience. I agree with you though that we do need a good PG to run the offense and be a leader. I’m sure Stone is aware of that and will address that need when the time is right. Right now I think they are trying to see if KPJ can be the type of PG that can make this team go. Let’s give him season and then asses things.
Definitely one. The question is did his passing/PG abilities seem clear by year 3 in the league (or yr 2 if you factor in KPJ hasn’t played a lot?). I remember watching him with OKC. I remember that Spurs series - went to that game in SA when Harden took over. it wasn’t 100% clear to me that this guy can play PG… but it was 100% clear to me that this dude could be the “#1 guy” that makes a crapton of all star games. basically I’m trying to see if there are good examples where from a pure bball iq perspective it got loads and loads better. even someone like Jeremy Lin… when he was “bad” the issue wasn’t whether he “got it” but more could he do what he wanted to do. whereas with KPJ I don’t know what he wants to do half the time and I really don’t think he does either.
Because we haven’t drafted a true point since the ice age, undersized shooting guards “combo guards” suddenly became the rage around the time of Luther Head.
Was hoping for more people screaming for Silas' head by now because he's not giving Nix 49 minutes per game. lol.
