I was wondering why is that Taylor is such a horrendous rebounder, is it that isn't dedicated for the game?

Because it is the off season.

Games don't start for at least 4 months.

i think motay's problem, as far as rebounding goes, is a matter of focus. if you remember when we played philly for the last time (first time seeing kenny thomas w/philly), motay was pumped for that game. he clearly outplayed kt and had like 10 boards in the first half.

but he isn't always that focused for some reason. maybe a disciplinarian coach like JVG can get that consistent focus out of him.

Pot usually doesn't help with regards to focus.

MoT's jump is horrible, which kills his desire to go for rebounds.

Getting his legs stronger, and dealing with his weight, along with learning the boxing out concept would make him good. I think 1 and 2 will be taken care of this summer, let's see if JVG demands #3.

He's not athletic, doesn't work out in the off-season, and doesn't have the desire to improve.

    Or even jump.

    He's a complete wuss on D.

We need a PF that can hustle, play D, and not jack up shots. Unfortunately, Taylor can only do one of these things.

I don't get it....which one does he do?

I don't know why you call him soft...he likes to talk a lot of trash.

He's just been injured.....he was never a good rebounder.

I hope that JVG can help him.

I think he quit the pot....I hope he has.

I hope he will grab more than 3 rebounds per game.....

Or get traded for one who can.

I agree, Sane, but how do you explain the guy getting outrebounded by the starting POINT GUARD??? That's just inexcusable. I don't care how bad a guys jump is, if your a PF, your PG shouldn't have more desire to battle with the big boys to grab boards.

I've always been a fan of MoT because he actually makes some clutch hoops late in games (unlike Kenny) and always makes his FT's late in games (unlike Kenny).

Another of Taylor's strength is that he knows how to take charges.

The game in Washington last year showed how good Mo can be, he was going toe-to-toe with MJ late in the game. Making shot-after-shot.

I also remember the games he played against LA. He had Robert Horry's number, not many can say that.

But if Taylor does not show noticable improvement in all aspects of his game, mostly on the boards, and just showing a quicker awareness or instinct of his surroundings, I'm gonna lose it for him.

Two summers ago, he got hurt. Couldn't improve much as a player
Last summer, he was rehabilitating. Couldn't improve much as a player
This summer, we Rocket fans better see an upgraded edition of Mo Taylor.

Short arms, can't jump very high/fast, and his too heavy for his legs.

He seems cemented to the ground, most of the time.

probably because he took fattyfatbastard's advice with the sourdough bacon ultimate cheeseburger or something (hangout thread from a while ago)? too many tater tots and coleslaw i guess.

taylor is like a less offensive minded derrick coleman. no rebounding, no defense, but he does have offensive potential (damn... that baby hook is almost as reliable as the dreamshake.

trade bait for those who disagree with trading griffin.

MO Tay Is lazy. He is as soft as cookie dough, The only reason He is here s because the Rox needed inside scoring. He is like The Mav's........ all O and NO D and Rebounds. with that body frame and as many bad shooters as the Rox have he should be avg atleast 12 boards a game

If he was lazy....then I don't know how the heck he has such a good jump hook.....gift from God? I don't think so. He has spent many hours practicing...he got injured and bored and he makes 8 freakin million a year...well he's not perfect! And I would trade him away! But not for Marcus Camby. Griffin is not much better.

Why can't EDDIE griffin make shot!!!
