That certainly remains to be seen. I hope you are correct, but I suspect we are only seeing the tip of the iceburg as far as problems in Iraq over the next decade or two.
Yes, but convoluted child/teacher/parent analogies are common way of confusing the hell out of everyone. You're entitled to your opinion. I've listed out the advantages and disadvantages. I think its pretty clear the intervention is better than containment.
Uh, yes. Yes, and I'm not the one that turned into an Iraq thread. And? Yes, but they are cooperating on every front except Iraq, and even that they are moving on. Stop being ridiculous. Where did I ever say anything like that? How many times do I have to say I'm not a Bush advocate?
more times than you defend his war to convince me. does it matter to you if i use 'this administration' over 'bushies'? and i'm not being ridiculous, we're dicussing the merits of this war and as far as i can tell your justification is almost entirely pragmatic. if you tempered your salvos with a little humility and concern for humanity, we might be able to get beyond the nuts and bolts and onto productive dialogue.
If I didn't have concern for humanity then why would I give a damn one way or the other about Iraqis? If you want to be pragmatic the intervention can certainly be justified (as I do above). If you want to be philosophical the intervention is also justified (as I do above - see 'self determination').
