I think Orlando is just trying to wait it out till training camp to see if anybody blinks or becomes desperate. The longer they wait, even till Feb, they will never get anything better than what's on the table now. So why wait? Get a new coach, maybe someone that D will love to play for... Wait for the 30 day rookie signing date to pass... Just don't know what they are doing....

I'm guessing that the Magic are going to wait until after Jan 15th until after they can get better offers from more suitors (Nets come back into the picture). By that point I'm pretty sure the Magic are going to try to get all the pieces they can get from teams (Houston might shafted into giving them Dmo, 2/3 rookies from 2012 draft, patterson, martin and maybe parsons plus some of the draft picks acquired). I certainly don't want to give up that many players and picks just for someone who doesn't want to stay.

Ever since Melo started to demand trades, Chris Paul/Dwight Howard have been the next two that have followed. Who's next? Kevin Love? Demarcus Aldridge? Crazy but definitely a possibility.

The Rockets have to move on with their plans nevertheless cause we never know what Orlando will settle for given that there are also talking to the Lakers.
Its going to be a tough couple of years with us being in rebuild mode, lets hope we put to good use the large cap room that we have next year if we don't get Howard or he leaves.

There's a storm coming, Mr. Hennigan.

This actually serves the Rockets. The Lakers and Cavs have nothing going on and their deals weren't good enough, plain and simple.

Not the case with the Rockets.

While we finalize the Lin and Asik signings and press conferences, plus the rookie deals, Morey lowers expectations of another FA signing but I can guarantee Orlando expects, and will receive, another offer.

If any deal is going to get done, that will be the one.

Jarrod Rudolph: Sources: Howard informed Hennigan that he has no desire to stay with the Magic and will leave as a free agent if the team decides against now

Jarrod Rudolph: Sources: Magic GM Rob Hennigan had hour-long meeting with Dwight Howard today in LA. Howard reiterated his desire to be as soon a possible. 2 minutes ago

We can offer less and less as we sign each rookie. Adds a month to the wait before we can trade them. DH12 is not coming to houston anytime soon. if at all. Id rather just go with what we've got, let em grow. Take another lotto pick or 2, build through the draft, good, smart free agency signings

If a good deal gets presented to Morey that requires that we use cap space, or Martin's contract, I think we might take it. That will lessen our ability to satisfy Orlando, but screw them. There's a good chance that the number and quality of possible deals for Howard is just going to shrink.

You forgot option #3 which is really the most important one: Scared as hell that Dwight will not be the same player due to back problems!!!!!

Why do people just seem to dismiss that he just had freakin back surgery. There is no way in hell that we should trade for him until we have seen him play SIGNIFICANT minutes, meaning we should wait until the trade deadline.
