Because he is too old and slow to make a difference when it really counts.

Not really. Plenty of teams will play both the starting and backup point guards with their bench 2/3 swingman, if both their starting 2 and 3 need rest or it creates a mismatch. Your standard eight man rotation has a point guard, a 2/3 wing, and a 4/5 big coming off the bench.

    A) older
    B) not on roster
    C) worse defender than our younger replacements

I still wouldn't mind him playing some 2 since he DOES bring leadership, bb IQ, and a nice shot. But will he take vet min ftom us knowing he may not get as much PT as last season? Somewhat doubt he is that loyal to us.

The offseason has really just begun for the Rockets. I doubt there's any team right now in a better position than the Rox to be the big winners at the trade deadline either. Or if they find a deal before the season. The young talent that probably won't be able to earn minutes on this team right away (Dekker, Harrell, K Pap, KJ, Johnson) is far greater than the talent we gave up to acquire Harden.

That said Morey is smart, patient and will make the right move at the right time.
