...was kind of correct in saying that funny women come off as unlikeable to men. Real humor relies on crudeness, neuroses or absurdity; all the things we probably feel the need to suppress when around women. If women start being crude or nutty; it feels like they're getting away with something we can't; like if I start telling racial jokes around caucasians. And there's really nothing more annoying than a group of women laughing. Sometimes they just laugh at stuff that's a coincidence. Like at work, if two or more people on the same floor are wearing the same color.
Madeline Kahn, anyone? Any of her performances in Mel Brooks' films were brilliant. Heck, she was even great in the later series of Cosby. And yes, she wasn't a stand-up, but her comic timing and rhythm was fantastic.
There's a reason The Simpsons blew up big instead of the Tracey Ullman show... Part of its kinda the Ginger & Mary Ann element. Women for the longest carried themselves the Ginger or Donna Reed types. Just needing soft natural feminine charm. They dont enter into mischief and have stories to tell from it, they take care of the men who did. Men putting themselves into life's many predicaments needed a sense of humor to get by. Its not to say women didnt do anything laborious but when there's the question of "How was work, dear?", who of the 2 will have the more amusing story? The Mary Ann girl next door types are more active in the daily grind, more resourceful and "sassy". It helps in developing wit and humor and snappy dialogue, that kind of thing. There are no doubt a few exceptions along the way, but they dont help to answer the question in the general sense.
Maybe we're just friggin different and they do more important things better than being stand up comedians?
Stand up comedians make people laugh. Laughter is the best medicine. Medicine is good for your health. Your health is the most important thing in the world. Do the mathloom.
