I've heard some of her stuff, but maybe need to listen to more. I don't really recall thinking "now that's funny!" at her routine. I used to watch her show all the time. It had possibly one of the funniest scenes on a variety show (think curtain rod). It was her skits more than her monologue or interaction with the audience at the beginning of her shows that made me laugh at her stuff. Besides, everybody knows Tim Conway was the funniest on that show. Yup. I mentioned her in a previous post. I loved some her stuff - I definitely think she's funny.

nah there's more for sure what about sewing, shopping for that perfect outfit, giving manicures, giving massages, working in HR, working in PR, or striptease dancing just to name a few
I'm really reaching here, but Lucille Ball was funny. Self-deprecation, is the basis for a lot comedy, but Vanity thy name is woman. - Dead British Dude. I bought a new blender the other day, and my girlfriend tells me it's broke. There are so many buttons, she tells me. She pressed every one of them. So I asked her if she plugged it in. She put her hand to her waist and gave me THE LOOK, What, do you think I'm stupid? Let's just say, the blender works fine. Now, she'll never tell this story, because it will make her look like a blonde. A guy, like myself, will tell the story, because she is a blonde.
I don't think women are funny like men are funny. But I've come to realize that it's because comedy and humor are many times gender-specific. It's the same reason why I don't like chick flicks and 'crying together' with other dudes. I like my humor harsh and cutting, slapsticky and corny, dirty and silly. Most of the comedy routines I've seen out of female comedians is about vaginas, relationships, having kids or how much dudes suck. Sometimes I laugh, but I won't get a rolling, nonstop belly-laugh out of them. Also, my idea of a good sense of humor on a woman is when they laugh at my jokes. It's chauvinistic, I know, but that's how it is.
It's the same reason fat and ugly people are funnier than skinny and handsome people. A good sense of humor requires a certain level of suffering. Comedy requires being critical of others, crassness, self-deprecation. Certain people have it easier and others, and therefore don't have the necessary experiences to be funny. They've never needed to be crass, they think too much of themselves to be self-deprecating, and everyone loves them so why should they be critical of others? I also think being funny is a developed skill. Entertaining people with jokes is a way of seeking acceptance. Women don't want to be funny, they want to be sexy. Funny isn't sexy. From puberty on, many women haven't had to work at getting someone to give them attention. They get attention by simply being a woman. It's like why big league pitchers can't hit; because they spend all their time practicing pitching.
