I think that just Rogan and the fat kid from Superbad. Bill Maher is one of my favorite comedians, as were Chappelle and Murphy. They didn't focus their routines around dicks. Pryor and Carlin were great too.
No doubt. This is a lame, lame thread. Lucile Ball Carol Burnett Vicki Lawrence Gilda F'n Radner and on and on and on... Mrs. B-Bob is funny or I wouldn't have married her.
i happen to think i have a great sense of humor! u can't tell me you didn't chuckle a little at my failed thread? hmmm woman comedians. I think wanda can be funny i think ellen is hilarious!!! tina fey uhhh, thats about it. i dnt really like woman comedians cause i kinda think they're boring too lol.
In general many female comedians aren't as funny as men because a large portion of their jokes are based on how they are victims and men are stupid. Both premises are false; therefore, the jokes fall flat. Victims!? Really? Ask any man. Women run the world. They've got half the money and all the pu--y (old joke, but true). I do think some women are funny. For instance, that Sarah Palin is hilarious.
I disagree. Paula Poundstone talking about her KITTY is way different than Margaret Cho talking about her KITTY. They are BOTH funny. Don't sugar-coat it. You know you failed MISERABLY on that one at NOT KNOWING HOW TO POST THREADS WITH POLLs and it wasn't an intentional "Hey, guys, watch this, I'm FUNNY!" attempt. FAIL again, madam. Don't take this the wrong way, Ms. D, but it was funny because you FAILed.
I mentioned her in my previous post. She's shock value to me. I don't think she's all that funny. She's like the female Andrew Dice Clay/Carlos Mencia or something.
Those are some funny people there (not sure about Mrs. B-Bob, but if opposites attract, she's probably hysterical... ok... kidding). I love Lucille Ball, Carol Burnett, Vicki Lawrence, and to a lesser extent Gilda Radner (she's kind of annoying to listen to). However, I'm trying to think of some comedians that do stand-up that crack me up and it's hard to come up with many. Someone else mentioned that there are lots that are funny in a sit-com kind of environment, but how about doing stand-up?
I kind of like Silverman stand-up, but then, I don't like much stand-up in general, and I admit that Silverman is more shock and awwww-gross! than anything. Burnett used to start her show with some standup, but it was not the best part (the skits were). So I don't have an answer for that. Some people used to like Whoopee (sp?) standup.

But for the most part -- standup is directed at men. Women just can't deliver a good fart joke.
Didn't realize this phenomenon was universal and had always assumed this was just limited to my social network. I usually find myself cringing when women attempt humor or wit.
I agree Ellen is funny. I've enjoyed her standup when I've heard it/seen it. And thanks for posting that Madigan clip, bnb. I'd never seen her before but heard a lot of her stuff on XM. I never would've guessed she looked like that. lol. She's pretty funny.
