    RRNY,

A lot of old time bbs members give you credit for your "insider" scoops. The reason why you got bashed about your JVG vs Steve scoop was because of your loaded anti-JVG attitude, not because of your past credibility. I would question a guy's credibility when it's obvious that he was so passionately hating someone.

So if you had just toned down your hatred on JVG, you'd get a lot more positive responses.

I'm just keeping it real. I'm not gonna tone down anything. People that know me on the board knows I will tell it how I see it with my "inside informtion". Yea I may have made it known about how I feel about JVG but at least I told you how it was going to be BEFORE the season started. You will see. After JVG gets rid of the cancer's on this team, the Rockets will still be mediocre because he is a not a great coach-a good coach but not great.

Keep it coming RRN. I'd like to know 10 minutes before Berman if the Rockets are going to make a move. It's empowering!

You don't like JVG that much, that's cool...don't forget that he's reading Good to Great, so check back once he's finished the book and we'll re-grade him. :D

Oh, no! What a pisser! Van Gundy's going to get rid of the cancers on this team. Please, no. I'd much rather have a mediocre team with several cancers than have a mediocre team of guys that played their hardest and didn't put themselves above the team.

You may get inside information, but you're just a groupie for a bunch of rap star wannabe basketball players.

I see the problem really twofolds - players and JVG. The problems with players has been evident all along as we have been painfully reminded once so often in watching the unwatcheable rocket games. As for JVG, at the beginning, I really liked JVG's no-nonsense approach, believing that he is exactly the kind dose that those rockets needed. But lately, his attitude and temperament more and more gets my nerve. BTW, did any of you notice the way he shouted and guestured angrily at Yao and Players during fourth quater when he recalling them back to sideline again just 9 secs after the previous time-out? Notice how JJ and Mobley, their different, rather unnatural reactions? Just think about how players would react to those kind of "motivation" and reenforcements? JVG may be calling for the right things, but doing it in a wrong, ineffective, arrogant ways. This just made him as immuture and irresponsible as SF in the same nature, but a seemly different incarnations. How ironically it is, to think those two resemble each other. I bet that over time, maybe not too long, JVG will be at odds with Yao as well. Then JVG will be in real trouble. It appears that CD, Les and Rocekts upper management has been making all kinds of mistakes and wrong judgements again and again... I have to think them as mediocre owner and GM. I had been in H-town last November to attend several Rockets games, to check out Toyota center, to feel the city. I have to tell you, other than Yao, the whole place is less inspiring...

Rocket Rich NY, I doubt you could get away with your tone and attitude here if you did not sometimes get some tidbits of insider info.

You are not coming across as a pleasant person.

    Moe,

This is just wrong....RR is telling it like he sees it, and is honest about it.

No need to call him names....he is a credible source, and IMHO is entitled to a bit of "I told ya so" itis....

Which will happen in 2006. Everyone not named Steve Francis or Mo Taylor will be a free agent that offseason. Obviously, Yao will be re-signed, but everyone else could be sent packing if this group fails to accomplish anything in the next 2 1/2 years.

    Ditto.

Although I appreciate the dedication JVG brings to his job, I dislike him personally.Well,he's a good coach but not a good coordinator.I admit his defense tactic and discipline style has taken some effect on this team. But he did that out of the way. In critical condition of the game, he seems out of his wits and even can't play to the score base on the temporal situation. His attitude towards his players is blurry which made nearly all players feel uncomfortable. It seems to him the proper way to inspire the guys is either ranting them or benching them. I wonder if he can blend those players together in his own way.

Two way to settle it,i think:

    * fired JVG

    * get ride of those 'cancer' that JVG believed

Otherwise this team will never be able to play like a real team with any kind of consistency. "one step forwards then two backwards---revert back to what they are in last 4 and 1/2 years".

I do agree that Grumpy sucks. As a matter a fact, it's the end of the world as we no it, and I feel crap.

    Just to be accurate:
The players did not have a relationship with JVG before the season, therefore they could not have had a bad relationship with him before the season.

    I believe you about that.

The team has not been destroyed. Outside of this incident, there has not been any major problems. I personally see this incident as being perceived more controversially than it actually is due to Fran Blinebury.

The Rockets have the best defense in the league, and prior to the recent skid, I had tremendous confidence in the direction they were headed.

Now you are mixing in complete BS with your doomsday speculations.

But you're suggesting that there wasn't a problem with this team before JVG took over. There is...

It wasn't a bed of roses before JVG took over. Rudy was forced off the team, remember?

Maybe we should just line up the coaches and watch them drop like flies....where's the problem then if coaches were to keep losing their jobs?

And would we be a great team with Francis? Or mediocre? Oh, wait. We've been mediocre for 5 years! Hmmm....

    It's a two-way street.
