I'm a proud Houstonian so naturally I'll go with my own. Plus it doesn't hurt that though we have our ups and downs I know my team will always be a contender. ------------------
Just pushin' it back to the top. ------------------ May I have another Snowball Clutch? Please may I? Ill be a good little mole.... I promise.
Like many of our younger posters, i was brought into basketball by Michael Jordan and the later days of Magic. I was brought to the rockets because of my location and then was totally hooked after watching dream, horry, smith, elie win in 93-94. ------------------ President of the Charles Barkley fan club...Oh he retired? When?
this is how I became a loyal fan for the rockets ... before 1993 . basketball wasn't on my best sports game list .. Why ?? simply .. basketball isn't the game that has a population in my country !! ( look to my profile to know where I'm !!! ) soccer !! Hand ball !!.... whatever !! so what have made me a fan of your team ?? in summer 1993 I came to houston during the offseason for .... I loved that city but i didn't think about thier sports team or that they would have a championship team someday however .. i came back to my country and i'm still that man who don't pay any interest to the nba !! some day late in november or early december 1993 I opened one of our local newpeaper !! i couldn't believe my eyes !! the rockets were 15-0 and that ties the best record for the start of season !! wooohoooooo the team of that city that I loved before is going to smash the others .. so what i'm waiting for ???!!! moreover hakeem was one of the crucial reasons to be one of the houston rockets fans and supporters and what made those things more interesting is that the first campionship year was in my first year as a fan for the rockets that's why i'm a rockets fan ------------------ the biggest houston Rockets fan in Q8 [This message has been edited by Q8 Rocket (edited February 09, 2001).]
It was Hakeem and the way we won the championships. Coming from behind and beating the bigger media markets. Plus I always rooted for Sam Cassell to play well, because he was/is a clutch player. ------------------
