For a limited time, Nashpatch-area Krystals are running a REALLY great offer: Bring in the best record in the NFL and you can get a Cheese Krystal for 99 cents!
you know what is delusional, its leaving the most clutch player on the bench in playoff game and thinking that was a smart decision. it's the basketball equivalent of not putting in Horry for a last second shot. regular season stats and records are nice and fun, but when it comes to winning big games in the clutch - VY is the man. I feel bad for the titan fans, getting tossed out of the playoffs that early knowing that you would have advanced if VY was in the game.
Guys, just let updawg have his little fantasy while he sits in his inVINCEable pjs on his Longhorn sheets with his Rose Bowl posters all around him and keeps praying it was Jan of 2006 again.....the reality of his hero being a headcase who will never "revolutionize the qb position" is a little too hard for him to take right now
As long as you are throwing "ifs" out there, if Young had played all year, they may not have made the playoffs.
Do you still root for them, even slightly? That team is still dead to me, although I do always take a little solace every year they lose, much like the 72 Dolphins.
Kerry Collins wasn't the problem yesterday - he moved the ball up and down the field, into field goal range on 7 separate occasions. VY was clutch in college. And his first year in the NFL - but it's been downhill since then. He certainly wasn't clutch last year, and these are his numbers for his playoff game last year: 16/29, 138 yards (4.8 ypa), 0 TD, 1 INT 2 rushes, 12 yards He would have been crushed by a Baltimore defense.
I'm sorry...did I miss something? When has VY ever won an NFL playoff game in the clutch? If thinking that if VY would've been in that game the Titans would've advanced helps you sleep at night, then God Bless.
You guys that think Vince would have outplayed Collins against that Baltimore defense are ridiculous.
It's like you're reading my mind updawg -- how could the most clutch player in the history of football just sit the entire game !? Not even a single wildcat package for Vince !! C'mon Titans you deserved that loss.
If only Vince started a playoff game a year ago, so we'd have a frame of reference to compare! Oh, that's right: http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=280106024 College is not the NFL. Say it to yourself, over and over again.
I can't tell if Updawg and King Cheetah are being serious or just having fun with this...I haven't seen enough of their Vincesanity body of work. The Titans lost cause their speedy back got hurt and LenDale's physical play plays to the Ravens strengths.
You obviously never watched Vince as a Titan. He isn't the same player. He doesn't do the same stuff. He's just an interception machine.
What prevented the Titans of impleneting some occasional sets with Young in there to try and "throw off the defense." You're always preaching offenses showing the defense "different looks" in basketball... why didn't the Titans, and the genius of Jeff Fisher, try that at least ONCE or TWICE down the stretch, so that they may have been able to utilize it against teams that apparently could sense what they wanted to do offensively (like Baltimore). Maybe, just maybe, they already know what they have in Young... judged by countless hours of watching him in practice, knowing exactly what he has accomplished (and failed to master) in his 3+ years in the NFL, and knowing just what he's capable of doing (or not doing) against the best of defenses in the NFL. Jeff Fisher and his staff aren't a bunch of idiots. If they really trusted VY to make a difference, they would have worked him in at some point during their "coasting" period after he had come back to the team. The truth is, they likely don't trust VY's psyche nor his physical capabilities to succeed in this league. Just like Reggie Bush has found out, Vince can't simply run by and overpower NFL calibur linebackers/cornerbacks.... and his best chance of doing that (when his speed was at his peak) was when he first came to the league. Now, with age and a little injury, this is the time of his career where he should be developing more of a passing game, with an increased ability to read defenses... and its THAT which more than anything, will keep Vince glued to the bench.
I break it down real easy. Fu*k Bud Adams VY suck ass as an NFL player Titans couldnt handle the Ravens d and the Titans Offense isnt all that great. You kill the run you kill the beast
