Problem wasn't distance on that FG Wind was behind him, and he had plenty of leg on it. It was wide left as soon as it he connected, he would have missed from 25.
Neither of those where goal line fumbles. Yep, that field goal was doomed as soon as it left the kicker's foot.
Obviously Chris Johnson's injury hurt the Titans, but they moved the ball pretty well against the Ravens. The schadenfreude side of me is happy that Bud Adams, Lendale White, Albert Haynesworth and some of the obnoxious Vince-bots got to taste the bitter nectar of defeat, but the Titans are a pretty admirable team. This was one hell of playoff game. We must give credit to the Baltimore game plan. They just did not put Flacco in any bad situations and he made plays when he had to.
Yep other than the bad call on the clock this was a great game especially if you like smash mouth football. My hats off to the Ravens D and think they won the game. The only turnover that I think you can lay on the Titans was the interception while the fumbles were just huge and timely hits by the D. Even on the interception the Ravens just brought the pressure and Collins couldn't handle it.
More than that really. Don't forget the turnover on downs when Fisher decided to go for it deep. Also, the pick Collins threw was potential points lost. They effectively lost 5 scoring opportunities.
I can't fault Fisher for going deep. You have to try to stretch the field against a blitzing defense. Also if you noticed that Flacco only connected on two deep passes and on one into double coverage where the two defenders fell down. All of those other deep passes by Flacco might've been wasted but you have to keep defenses honest otherwise they just crowd the box.
I was talking about when the went for it on 4th and 8 and didn't make it early in the game. I would have kicked the field goal there.
Sorry my bad. Yeah that was a bad call especially against a D as good as the Ravens. My guess was the play was a deep throw so either it goes in for a touchdown or if it gets picked off as good as a punt. From what I remember it would've been a very long field goal and since the rule is on a missed field goal the other team gets it at the spot of the kick so he didn't want to give up that much field position for a low probability kick. That said I think he should've punted there if he didn't think there was a good shot at a field goal.
Both? I don't remember the Ravens missing a field goal and Bironas missed the one he did because he shanked it wide left. Maybe the laces were out.
No stomping on towels for the thumbtacks today. But seriously, everyone knew Tennessee wasn't as good as their record indicated, and it was evident that they ran into a better team today. I don't really care for the Ravens but for some reason I really like Joe Flacco, and I couldn't help but really enjoy watching them take down those arrogant pretenders in Tennessee.
It was too easy for the Ravens to key on the one-dimensional Collins. Vince would have kept that def on its toes....too bad for tenn, tough lesson to learn
I was talking about when Tennessee went for it on 4th and 8 instead of kicking. I forgot to add during warmups both kickers were having trouble kicking in that direction.
Yeah, that's why he's been riding the pine all freaking season. Vince is a joke and a fraud and a bust. When journey man Kerry Collins beats you out as the starter at 36 years old, that means you suck.
