I don’t want to extend Fred, but agreed that Amen is not a point guard right now. He’s not even a guard right now. If your handle isn’t great and you can’t shoot you are not an nba guard. Maybe he can develop those skill-sets at some point but he’s not there. I remain confounded by the number of people who want to run him out as a point guard.

Amen’s immediate future is at the 3. He can still handle the ball, but he also gets to focus on all of the other great things he does, like cutting, rebounding, pressuring the rim, and hopefully developing a mid-range game. He’s a forward that can defend all 5 positions. If we are gong to lean into a developmental point guard we should be leaning into Reed.

I didn't say anything about "running it back". Not sure why you are coming at me so hard on that point. All I said is that Udoka's philosophy is to win games, not develop players. There are multiple ways to improve a team other than developing players.

If Udoka can win games while developing players, then great. That's the best of both worlds. But in the heat of the moment, if he thinks he can win a game, he's not leaving the inexperienced player out there.

As you have seen this season, the NBA coach is a fragile role. No way any coach can be viewed as sacrificing winning unless they are tanking.

All that said, I'm just calling it how I see it. I'm not saying any of this is right or wrong, IMO. Just calling balls and strikes. Don't hate the playa.
