Doesn't really seem to me like the bench needs to be filled out. The numbers are there, and outside of a maybe a couple of spots, seems to be set.

Set at PG with Beverley and Canaan.
Set at SG with Garcia and Anderson.
Set at SF with Casspi and Garcia.
Set at PF with Jones/Moteijunas and Smith.
Set at C with Asik and Smith.

I could see Anderson and Tim O being waived and adding another shooter or two, but I think the basic score of the bench is there.

Sure, but Gary Neal is a rather poor defensive player and not even close to being as good, much less better, than Beverley on defense.
Anyway, Feigen tweeted that the Spurs would match a room MLE offer for Neal. Not sure if that's just his opinion or not, but I don't think Neal would be huge addition, anyway. He's essentially a slightly better scoring/shooting version of Toney Douglas without defense.

Really, there are very few players within the Rockets price range that are any good and the ones that are centers or PGs, neither of which the Rockets need barring a trade.

Xavier Henry does nothing for this team, I think Ronnie Brewer would be a perfect fit to back up Harden. He plays stout defense and can hit the open jumper when called upon

Teams tend to overspend at the beginning. Seems like the bargain finds are usually later...

How are the twolves doing so much

They have added K mart for 7 mil or so, Pek for 12.5, Bud for 5 mil , and are closing in brewer at 5 mil

I mean just seems ridiculous... I know we got howard but we are stuck begging players to take mins.

Ronnie Brewer just got $5 million a year from Minnesota. That's why I'm bringing up Henry.

Rockets wanted Corey but he's out of their price range.

cut ohlbract and sign either Kenyon martin or samauel dalembert... probably martin
send Covington to D-league and sign another good wing defender for if Garcia gets injured or in foul trouble... may be brewer?
I like the Casspi signing and think that he could have a resurgence but I don't want to bank on it

not surprised, morey and his team have might have something up their sleeves

btw ..im wondering why so many posters are counting omri casspi out..i think the guy can play with the right players and system. He had a very good, productive rookie season, don't sleep on him

    Lin / Beverley / Canaan
    Harden / ?
    Parsons / Garcia / Casspi
    TJones / DMo / Smith
    Howard / Asik / Smith

Looks pretty full to me. Still need a backup for Harden after we renounce Anderson (if we use our room exception, I imagine it will be for this).

    Some possibilities....

    Richard Hamilton
    Ronnie Brewer
    Gary Neal
    Nick Young

You are using assmith's words, not mine. I never said "better", I said more efficient. Neal was a poor defender in college but he has improved with the Spurs. He is more efficient than Beverley because he does not foul as much, plays the passing lanes better, plays help defense better, not as many turnovers and is a much more efficient scorer, especially from 3 point range. And while he was not a facilitator with the Spurs, he has that ability.
