because Morey is not Danny Ferry or Otis Smith and doesn't impatiently overpay to surround his stars with garbage

If the cap comes in at 58.5 (7/10) then Ohlbrect and Anderson are most likely to be waived (and picked up by Boston?) and Dwight has to take a $150,000 cut from the max.

Caspri, Covington, Canaan, Cisco have not signed contracts yet, they are expected to sign after Dwight signs so we can use our Room Exception, Vet. Min. Exception... etc.

In the unlikely event that the cap comes in lower and Dwight does not want to take a pay cut. G.Smith and/or Beverley's non-guaranteed contracts may be waived or Asik and/or Lin will be traded.

Once Dwight is onboard, we will be essentially over the cap and limited to Min. contracts and the 2.6m Room Exception (can be split, max 2 years). The big questions are how we will spend the 2.6m Room MLE and what kind of contract we can offer Canaan apart from the Rookie Min. (490,120).

Best we probably play the waiting game and see if we can pick-up a nice player for the 2.6m Room MLE towards the end of Summer. Some of the players nobody wants that might be still available a couple of months from now... Monta Ellis, Brandon Jennings, Kirilenko, Pekovic ...

No offense, but there is no way you should be including Jones.

Cisco, Omri and Covington have all agreed to contracts, signing them is just a formality.

I could see Anderson and Ohlbrect getting cut for cap space but not Smith or Beverley.

Anderson & Ohlbrecht will be gone but we have plenty. We could suit up tomorrow & ball just fine.

I think Gary Neal is perfect for the Room Exception. Or maybe Corey Brewer. But Neal is a better shooter and defender. So i'll go with Gary Neal.

Worked even better when Garcia replaced Lin.

Morey deserves a week off. Let the market settle and snag an under appreciated player for cheap. Would like to see another guard behind Harden and/or an insurance big.

Thanks for adding absolutely nothing to a legitimate question in a post. You answered no question and suggested no signings. I'd expect someone with as much posting history as you to offer at least something of value in a response, but hey, you know what they say about assumption.

As far as other posts are concerned, I really like the idea of getting Gary Neal as a spark for us off the bench. I know that we are heavy on PGs with Lin, Beverley, and possibly Canaan as he is expected to be signed, at least to start in the league, but Neal is one of those catch-fire 3 point specialists that are invaluable to a playoff team with aspirations for a championship. Like a Craig Hodges, Steve Kerr, Robert Horry type who can knock down clutch shots and hit 3's when they are on.

Morey always waits til' toward the end of free agency to see what bargain basement deals are still around. That is how we got Delfino last season.

Obviously if he can sign guys he likes to vet minimum deals like he did with Garcia and Casspi, he'll do it. But there are other guys out there who are holding out for more money and they aren't going to get it. Once they realize that, they'll be willing to take a smaller short term deal from Morey.

On top of that, I'm sure Morey wants to evaluate the talent on our summer league time and is feeling out several potential trades. If we make a single more trade, that could dramatically change what our needs are.

We do and we will once the cap numbers come in. The way I see it Anderson and Ohlbrecht or gone if it comes in at 59 we can keep one of them but might release both anyway to give the extra money to Canaan.
