I agree that people who try to push their religion is a tad bit too much, but there is nothing wrong with people believing what they want. Or believing that when they die they will see their family. I think you see negative aspects of religion which clouds the good. Religion gives hope to people.

If you believe eating dirt can cure swine flu, people will try to get mental help for you. If you do that to your children, you will probably get arrested.

Eating dirt probably gives the guy hope too.

But, aside from the offensive lines, I don't have real problems with religious people who keep it to themselves, I just can't stand it when they sound so righteous and try to brainwash children. At least they should outlaw preschool run by churches.

Are you specifically targeting Christianity here because it all depends on the religion and how you interpret it. There were always be crazies in every religion.

Buddhism sounds a little better since it doesn't intimidate you with hell. The others are about the same to me. There is no need to interpret, I don't need to be a fashion designer to know someone is naked.

So your standard to decide whether a thing should be outlawed is based on its harm to YOU? I got it now. That explains. :p

I'm sure you have an interesting seemingly consequence-free life.

But you shouldn't tell other people how to live their lives. Because:

    A) Nobody cares about what you have to say.
    B) Have fun trying to convince the multitudes of millions of Christians around the world to stop believing in Jesus.
    C) Did I forgot to say that nobody cares?

    :D

Is your argument that you want religion to be outlawed because of it brainwashing the youth, or because you don't like the idea of hell? And you don't believe there isn't somebody in the world going door to door and asking people if they found perfect nirvana yet?

If you can't see the tangible benefits that faith in something can bring to the world, I feel sorry for you.

Religion can hurt if it's crazy extremism, but usually it is beneficial for people (the morality, fear of sinning, etc.).

You obviously weren't listening; nobody teaches that we evolved from amoebas. Furthermore, it is impossible for amoebas to have incestuous relations, as they reproduce asexually. Humans, on the other hand, reproduce sexually, making the virgin birth also impossible (unless turkey basters were invented prior to 2000 years ago).

The vast majority of religious people keep their own counsel, go about their business, aren't interested in trying to "convert the world," and would be mildly concerned about the OP, assuming him to be an angry, bitter person, who feels the need to attack people that simply don't care what he thinks about religion, or anything else. In my opinion.

    In short, who cares?

Paradox of the interwebs. Over time, the more people post in a D&D thread, the less people care about the subject of the thread.
