I read a thread earlier where people basically just shat over all these cities all over the world. New Orleans. New York. Venice. No matter where! People just said "omg this place sucks for xxxxx reason...trashy..smelly....bunch of criminals..."
WHERE THE HELL DO I VISIT THEN??

I seriously was disheartened over the hatred and snooty attitude they displayed even over cities that I have visited and enjoyed. I get that subjective stuff but some of the people complaining about certain cities felt like they expected a golden city with no problems.

Anyway, when did snotty upper class expectations become so norm around here? I thought we were people of the sun and soil??

Well I read people describing certain cities as TOILETS and thinking...really? I enjoy the grit and danger of cities. Certain Clutchfans members started off as radicals turning into domesticated cats.

I thought we were people of the basket and of the ball. A classless people, or people without class, who share a love of the Houston Rockets, win or lose. Many of us travel. If we are snotty, do we not blow our nose? If confronted with sun and soil, do we not put on sunscreen and look for a fire ants? I've been to New York and Venice and New Orleans, just not at the same time. That would be difficult. I found all enjoyable. Does that mean anything?

Thank you for encouraging these thoughts. If only I knew what it all meant.

Opinions are subjective and therefore differ among a large group of individuals, you have probably not grasped that a negative opinion about one city often implies favorable perceptions of others with different qualities, so the sentiments are actually quite balanced in the minds single posters. Also you have somehow weirdly confused forthrightness with class identification and elitism.

People will always lash out against what they can't have.

    It's a defense mechanism.

well.....the name of the thread was places others love but you don't. A bit of a call for shat, maybe? maybe no....why you so snotty, snooty and hateful on your fellow clutchfans this lovely eve Mr Rodriguez? ;).

There are a few favorite places threads in the archives if you're looking for some WHERE THE HELL YOU CAN VISIT THEN recommendations. Some cities made both the good and the bad lists. And the ugly too.

I think the main points against Venice were the ridiculous overcrowding, don't know how that qualifies as ****ting, hating or being snotty.
