Got food poisoning on two separate occasions from these damn things. You'd think I would never eat them again after the first incident, but 99 cents for two was just too difficult to pass up as a college boy. It's kind of like flying Spirit Airlines, you know it's dog crap but sometimes you can't resist the price. I havent eaten JITB in probably 15 years, never really liked it with the exception of the Ultimate Cheeseburger, but I dont know if they still make those.
Not sure who bumped this thread but thank you for the memories. I just had a few tacos from Jack in the Box a few days ago lol. ***foodie alert*** La Lucha in the Heights does a play on J.I.T.B. tacos with gulf coast shrimp, handmade corn tortillas, and spicy roasted chiles. Pricey since they're 3 for $13 but delicious.
I'm good friends with some of the best chefs in Austin, and we were literally talking about them on Monday. They are delicious as long as you don't think of them as tacos. Something about a deep fried shell and the American cheese slices that just hit the spot late at night.
