Well, at least he didn't quit or cry like V-Gina did. He knows his role, whatever it may be.

cuz he thinks he ain't ready yet. Even Deke complained at one point for not getting more minutes. If you think deeper, he's saying to let Yao sit longer. This is worse than what Span did.

Love him or hate him, between Novak and Snyder to fill out Rockets roster #15, I'd take Novak. Yes Snyder does everything (except shoot the 3) better than Novak, but otherwise he is just a slightly above average all-round player whose strengths are replicated by Francis, Wells and McGrady but unfortunately these 3 does pretty much everything Snyder can do but better. Snyder won't get minutes in Houston but might help a lesser team.

Novak however is the only Rocket on the bench that can shoot the lights out from the 3/4 spot. He's just not had the chance to gain confidence on the court and show it (JVG). I'd rather have a one-dimensional Novak for special situations then to have better all-round Snyder who's not going to get minutes.

What's more, players like Snyder can be more easily replaced as there's 10-odd of these atheletic (but can't shoot or play smart) guard/forward players in the draft every year. But a potentially great shooter like Novak isn't around that often.

I'd agree with this assessment. Novak's a role player who'll do what you ask of him, but isnt going to be disgruntled with a lack of minutes. Snyder has more all around skill - that we ain't gonna utilize, cause we dont have the minutes for him, which will become an issue.
On a personal note, chatted with Novak at the Vegas Summer League his rookie year - nicest guy you'd ever meet.
Let him develop, and he could be the dagger.

Yeah on the defensive end Novak is weak, but come on this guy can shoot 3-pointers like free throws. Under JVG Novak couldnt make it at all, but under adelmans offense, he can be a serious 3-point threat. By far the best 3-point shooter i have seen in rockets. Keep him.
