Well it goes the other way too. There are guys who are tearing it up in the D-League but can't contribute on the NBA level as well as a Chuck Hayes. It's hit-and-miss, really.

With Novak, he's simply not good enough to do anything to help us this season. Sure, he can shoot, but what else? He's slow, tall but not strong, and simply won't be able to keep up against consistent NBA opposition. With the cuts we have to make, I just don't see him making enough of a case to keep himself on the squad.

Novak is a circus performer. Put him in a relaxed environment and he could probably stroke 49/50 three-pointers in a game of Around the World and amaze observers. Put him in a competitive NBA game and his stroke doesn't work. If Novak can't shoot better than the 36% overall and 33% from long range he did last year, he has no place in the NBA. I want him to be good enough to make the roster but it looks doubtful.

you honostly cannot count the percentage from last year, he shot such a small amount of 3s that missing one or two 3-pointers significantly lowered his percentage

Question: If Novak goes out next game and makes 6 out of 6 three-pointers (which I think is possible), will your opinion of him change?

I'm not trying to make any sort of point...I'm just interested what you guys think

Leave Novak alone he will prove his worth when the time comes.

seriously y'all expect him to come in off the bench not even warm in any sort of way and shoot lights out?

    Keep Novak!

I believe it is Rafer who will get significant playing time in the preseason to showcase his pure point guard skills to other teams.

Its not hate, but annoyance for me. A lot of people here thinks he can be the next peja and it was JVG that held him back. But the truth is that he just plain sucks, players who were good 3 point shooters in college are a dime a dozen.

Thats exactly what I expect out of him and any other one-dimensional 3 point shooter. You want to make him a starter so he can have time to warm up or have him play 20 minutes a game so he can suck for 19? Luther comes off the bench ready to launch 3's all game long, why can't we expect the same out of Novak.

He can't rebound when he is 6`8 to 6'10?

Im not even talking about offensive rebounds... he cant rebound anything period.

It's not a coincidence that last night he was the only player (both teams) without a single rebound.

Who says that players who can only shoot can't make it in this league? There are plenty of shoot-only players in the history of NBA. There are never enough shooters.

The problem with Novak isn't that he can't do other things well. The problem is that he couldn't even shoot well last year. If he could shoot around .400 from beyond the arc and around .450 overall IN GAME and nothing else, he would make the team. But he's run out of time.

I am pretty sure his shooting last season was a confidence thing. Can he regain his confidence in time to impress the coaches? It's a long shot. The last roster spot is between him, Harris, and Snyder, assuming no trades. Harris seems to have the upper hand now. Snyder might get the edge because of his athleticism.

For those who say he would never be in a close game, let me ask you this. If you had only 2 seconds to inbound the ball and you needed 3 points to tie it, wouldn't you put the best 3-point shooters you have (especially those who are good at catch and shoot) on the floor?

Cant box out, cant board, cant shoot(havnt proven he is what he was in college so far). He is useless as a 4, and we dont need him to be SF at this point.

You're saying that if we were down 3 and he's sitting on the bench, you'd pull him off the bench just to make that shot? There's no way I'd put in a cold player who probably hasn't left the bench for most of the season to make the final shot. No matter how good a three point shooter he is, that just seems like a bad idea.

LMAO. Yeah, I hear he used to tear up the first team in practice last year. :D

I'm sure there's a certain overseas team that would sign him.

I dont even know about that... Althought we have limited information, he hasn't seemed like a confident three point shooter in his NBA career. It's almost like we think he's a bomber because of reputation. I'm just not sold on at all. I'd feel just as comfortable if not more comfortable having brooks in there when we need a three.
