    Hmmm.

Doug Christie maybe? I'm pretty quick over the ground, get a few steals, decent perimeter defender. I pass the ball OK, and have some range on my jumper, but I don't take very many shots, and score in transition as much as anything. My ball-handling is OK, and I have the occasional drive to the basket, but I'm never the guard bringing the ball up-court. I guard the post-up OK too, provided I'm not giving up too much height. I still have some strength from my rugby days.

Golf: Phil Mickelson, deadly with a wedge, not so accurate with the driver but plenty long. Take too many chances, sometimes too creative.

Basketball - when I was a little kid, I had quickness and one-on-one moves, so pre junior high, I was Allen Iverson. However, I started growing and lost my coordination and outside shot, so now I would say Dennis Rodman. I averaged like 11 rebounds a game for 2 or 3 straight church league seasons but only 4 to 6 points a game.

Football - before working out, I would say Lamar Thomas, former WR from University of Miami who really never panned out in the NFL as he was tall and lean but not very strong. Now, I would have to say the great Al Toon, as I am tall and strong with still very good speed. WR and CB are about the only places I can play in football, maybe could play LB now.

Baseball - I am the guy who can hit fastballs all day long, struggle somewhat with curveballs, and field okay in the outfield but not have a good throwing arm - maybe a righthanded version of Mike Greenwell.

No human can represent my game - the closest I can think of is a heavenly body. Namely Jupiter's moon IO - because I am constantly erupting with Instant Offense dawg...

I didn't know a church league existed. What church, if this is not too personal?

Church league basketball and church league softball are pretty popular in TN. We usually have 8 teams and the denominations are Protestant ones like Baptist, Methodist, Church of God, and *gasp* Church of Christ. Sometimes, we will get small independent Baptist churches to have teams (these churches are different from Southern Baptist churches).

    I'll descorine my games, because for most, I can't find the right combination;

Basketball; Played the point at 6'1", which was pretty tall for HS, etc. That said, I was all athlete, little game. I was routinely the fastest guy on the court, but that translated better on defende, as on offense my handle was weak for a guard, and it could be embarassing compared to other points with real handles... I could really shoot, make a lot of acrobatic plays, could dunk, and really loved to play the post. Essentially I was out of position at the point, but my coach put me there because I was the football captain and fast, so he figured I ought to run the team.

Baseball: Played SS, and honestly was a great all arounder, but lived in my Dad's shadow, as he was signed to a contract out of HS before blowing out his knee. I would either bat 1st or 3rd, always, and was voted best defensive player in my league several times. Stole a ton, hit for avg. and power...dunno who compares. Wasn't as dominat a hitter as someone like A-Rod, but stole more ( lead league every year)...Dunno.

Football: This was my game. Was all regional rb, and got several schol. offers. Played at 6'1", 185-195 lbs, depending on when in the season. Speed, and the ability to make sharp cuts at full speed was my specialty. People called me Barry later, but wasn't really a stop and go kind of guy, more of a Dickerson/Allen/Dorsett kind of slasher. Returned kicks, played CB, occassionally safety or pass rush/coverage OLB on defense.

Hockey: Don't ask. What little I played, I was terrible.

Tennis: Was really good really young, and never got better, whereas everyone else did. Relied on athleticism, and hit a hard but wild serve, but had little skill.

Golf: Played with my Dad as a kid, never broke 100...went 5 years without playing, played a day from God at a work tournament, won the damed thing out of pure luck and feeling so surreal I'd try shots I had sno business making...and have and will never played again, as I'll never be anything like that again.

basketball - brent barry - solid role player that can hit from anywhere, solid handles but not spectacular, i am a solid passer, and a great hustler on offensive rebounds and defense.

football - jerome pathon - decent wide receiver - solid catching, solid running - from canada.

hockey - pavel bure - good speed, good dekes, great offense, invisible on defense.

Basketball - Jim Jackson...solid shooter, does a lot of the little things on the court.
Football - No real comparison, but I am comfortable playing QB, RB, WR(Just playground football). I'd say I'm an Emmitt - type RB, Chance Mock - type QB, and receiver...well, any receiver that has speed more fit for a RB, but has good hands and is hard to bring down.
Tennis - Pete Sampras without the zip on the serve.
Golf - Simply on a level of my own...Comparing myself to a pro golfer would be incredibly insulting to said golfer.

At this point, I only play organized tennis, so my basketball and football comparisons are based only on playing with friends/family.

I remember replying to a thread like this a few years ago, and I think I described myself as a future Gary Payton on the court and future Randy Moss on the field...lol. Man...what a few years will do for one's realism.

    Matt Bullard or Dennis Scott

I can rain all day from outside (and I got trophies to prove it, biatch!), but inside the three-point line, I'm as useless as a third butt cheek.

I'm pretty sure that we are all comparing ourselves to these athletes relative to the guys around us.

For example, I compared myself to Emmitt. Compared to most of the guys I play with, I would be considered small. A good 2-3 inches smaller than most of them. Like Emmitt, I would be an undersized RB with pretty good speed and moves...for a non-competitive footballer, that is.

I'd say it's obvious that none of us are actually comparing our talent level with any pro athletes. I could go your rout and say that my basketball skill set is almost identical to that of a good friend of mine, but that wouldn't really explain much.

Basketball: Hakeem Olajuwon I've got the quickness and the low post moves. I can also drain the occaisonal three.
Too bad I'm only 5-11 or I'd be in the NBA:)

Baseball: Craig Biggio I'm a good fielder and a contact hitter. I do most of the little things in baseball well: bunting, base running etc

Football: Doug Flutie without the moving around in the pocket ability. I suck.

Baseball -- a mix of Ricky Henderson and Sammy Sosa.
