I guess it depends on what you think of Jalen Green. If the Rockets have concluded that Green isn't going to be an all star.... then I could see them make a move for Lillard and then move Lillard to a third team for young players and assets.... for example, the Rockets could send him to the Sixers for a package including Simmons and Maxey and draft picks..... that would be a really ballsy trade though.... then they could move Simmons to Minnesota for draft picks and Russell.... Ill just say that the Rockets currently have less talent than a lot of fans seem to think.
Org culture is such an important intangible thing with rebuilding. The sixers got incredibly lucky to get Embiid at 3 and even more so that he's found out how to stay relatively healthy. The culture of the org, the leadership, and the coaching are why teams that rebuild with youth typically succeed vs not. The Heat with their team mixed with young talent that came from the draft, and then mixing in some trades/free agents. Boston with their ability to groom young talent along with free agents. Those are two teams that did what I believe Stone is trying to do with this young team. However, none of it works unless you have a hard working and respected culture. Houston is a A- free agent destination, but it could drop to C+ if the organization from top to bottom loses much of the goodwill that the Les years gained around the league. That reputation this year and this Summer will be crucial to have a Heat/Celtics approach vs a Sixers/Hinkie approach which relies on pure luck. We'll just have to wait, and see but I think there are real reasons to be concerned about how this season is going thus far.
Unless we're getting a YOUNG star in exchange right now like Doncic or Ja Morant, forget it. We made our bed by drafting Green now Tillman has to sleep in it.
