The only people who think that the sole purpose of Unbreakable was the ending are having a hard time understanding that directors don't make the same movie over and over. Everyone just assumed (along with myself) that the ending would be The Sixth Sense-esque. It obviously wasn't, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a good movie. Movies today try way too hard to have some twist you don't see coming at the end, and when one doesn't, people get all pissy about it.

When movies suck, we get all pissy about it too. ;)

Here's a thought: when you're directing a movie in which the ending is transparent after the first five minutes, spend more time on badarse cinematography or character development. Don't wrap up on something that everyone knew at the outset.

Manny, hang in there. I keep trying to help you out by writing posts that generate great disagreement, but you keep edging me out in the most hated poll. Aside from stuffing the ballot box and voting for myself repeatedly,if that is allowed, what else can I do for you? Can't you figure out how to save yourself?

It reminds me of when Jeff won " the most likely to go to Hell" poll. Aside from being a man of gentle non-violence I could never understand what in the hell he did that made people think he was condemned to hell.:(

... check your email guys. This week's meeting has been postponed due to prior engagements by member #17.

I just blend in the background because this board is so wild and random that you don't know what is going on inside of it. As for the Clique, does it exist? My theory is that it does, but the people you think are in the Clique, really aren't in the Clique. The Clique seems to be about mindgames. Who's in? Who isn't? Does it really exist? Is it called the Clique? Who knows? All I know is that this board is so freaking big and diverse that Osama bin Laden could be posting on here and we wouldn't know, so who knows if the Clique exist? Watch for patterns. Example, there are a lot of people with Rock or Rocks or Rockets in their names, are they part of the Clique? There are numerous people with the name doc or doctor, are they part of the Clique? Hmmmm. . . . ;)

What if there are 2 or more cliques operating on this board...? I'm willing to bet some members have already smuggled box cutters in....

Do you honestly expect those of "The Clique" to respond honestly to this? Please.

The Clique makes itself known without saying a word.
We don't need to exist in your reality.
We need only exist in your mind.
It's not that "we are this" or "we are that"... we simply are.

... Bring-a-Babe night at the next meeting y'all

Seemingly mine always has been and I guess always will be Rocketman95. Check out the Homeland Defense thread and see how he insulted my wife.

He can say, think or do what he wants about me, but I would hope you guys would agree that he should leave my wife out of this and any thread.

Well my least favorite poster has to be [beep]. [Beep] is so pathetic. All they want to do is act like a big shot, but all [beep] is, is a freaking poser! [Beep] you [beep]!

I confess, I was just lurking on the Rockets' board when I received an e-mail that I would no longer be able to get the scoops on the Rockets unless I stirred things up on the Hangout Board as the posts were lagging.

I was promised a clique membership card if I got the posts up enough. Now they claim it isn't fair as the NYC bombing would have done it anyway.

You mean a Clinique membership card right? The cliques around here just have secret three fingered handshakes...

    DoD, you get it.

You see, rimbaud has access to a lot of books. My theory is that either he works in a library, one of his parents work in a library, or he's a hermit who lives in the basement of a library. He uses his vast array of books to mishmash and hodgepodge fancy ideas together in an effort to sound educated.

I, on the other hand, am very much like my mentor Wile E. Coyote: Supra-Genius.

This is the only place where I disagree with you. I liked Unbreakable (of course, I'm also a comic fan so I might be a little biased in that regard) but sometimes the pacing was just too slow. Mind you, I'm very glad we didn't get a digital Willis flying around town, but I think there were points in the middle of the film were it got too bogged down.

In the DVD it details some of the cut scenes Night decided to let go of. One of these was a second weightlifting scene at the stadium. He realized it was repetitive and cut it...but the fact that it was filmed shows that he may have tried to put in a little bit more detail than was necessary.

Still, a good film. And a brave topic/approach to try, which gets my respect.
