Tough question. I can't go with just one. T-Mac's just awesome and so smooth. I love Yao's buttery touch and Sura's tenacity... he reminds me of Wolverine from the comic books the way he attacks the basket. Jon Barry never seems to make mistakes and he's just the man when he hits pull up 3's and reverse layups. It has a calming effect on me when Barry's in the game for some reason, like "JB's in there so everythings gonna be ok."
Besides Yao, I would go with Wesley. The guy is 34 and still as quick as lightening. Down-to-earth. Sticks to his role. 100% effort. Love that smile he puts on. His successful battle with the past tragic experience makes him more respectable as a person.
I don't really have one. Over the years, I've quit giving a rat's ass one way or the other. I just love the Rockets because their the NBA team in my hometown of Houston. Gun to my head, if I had to make a choice - as I have in the past, I'd pick Bobby Sura because he's the closest thing we've got to Mario Elie, who's balls-out hustle just made you proud.
T-Mac's my favorite Rocket because he's got more dimensions to his game than any player on the team, his J is money, and he's a certifiable superstar in the truest sense of the word. I love this year's team with all the trades being completed better than any team since the team that won the 2nd title in 95 and JVG is MUCH more interesting to read about on a daily basis than Rudy T was..Favorites in order: T-Mac: he's the bomb period Sura: (intangibles like leadership, toughness, intensity), good penetrator, nice J James: love his J and his handles and quickness when driving Barry: love the pull up J with nobody under the basket (pure confidence in his J) good ball movement and hustle. Love his intensity Yao: huge upside and love his mid range baseline J, unselfishness, key blocks at critical parts of games and when he gets the rock low he's virtually unstoppable. It's a joy to watch him grow Howard: mid randge jumper is money, nice hustle on the boards Padgett: lights out jumper, unselfish, refreshing addition coming off the bench Wesley: Jumper is getting much better, he stimulates good ball movement and fast break opportunities, good hustle and D. Smart, heady player. Mutombo: love his relentless rebounding effort, a total presense in the lane and many times I prefer him in the game over Yao because of his steadiness and consistency on the glass Like JVG said recentlly "I love this team"
RocketForever, I can answer least favorite in the last ten years: Dan Langhi. I like guys who fight for minutes, but scrubs that b**** and moan about P.T. in order to be waiver or traded, and then make it to another team, sit on its bench, and then are out of the league the following year... The same applies to Rhoderick Rhodes (sp?), who should have just shut the hell up, listened to Rick Pitino and never transferred to USC. Basically, I don't like whiney b****es. -P1st, S2nd
It's so hard to deside considering Yao is the longest tenured Rocket. Went with Tmac though. I love his game a lot. I still wanted to vote for cuttino mobley. I wish he would sign with Houston, alas we don't need him and can't afford him.
