Who's your favorite poster(s) on "the other side"?

deepblue is pretty good for a Mccain suporter.

 

Oh, and of course Fatty is probably the most entertaining poster on the whole board but especially here. I especially love the folksy way he introduces every new thought by saying "Hell." Like "Hell, I'm the most uninformed poster here and I still know for a fact liberals are totally uninformed." I also love the way that he learns like one new word a month and includes it in every post. The word for October is "myopia."

Fatty is awesome. I'm gonna miss him after the election.

 

I have always respected the opinions and debate style of:

Deckard
rimrocker
B-Bob
Batman Jones
mc mark (his recent occasional sniping comments I believe are from passion)
MadMax, when we are at political odds (good guy, great friend)

I am SURE that I am leaving a couple of people out. That is not intentional, but is a product of a tired mind after an unusually long workweek.

It has to be TJ. I don't condone his low blows, and there are respectable Con posters, but TJ is a guy you just love to hate.

 

Love your opponents, bless them that post **** you, pray for those who own you from time to time.

 

Wow, too many to name. While I have opinions I don't make too many proclamations about taking them to my grave-- the abortion issue comes to mind as one I can't see letting go of!

While I know many won't believe it, I seriously do take most input from the other side to heart. However, it's not about changing minds and making notches in your belt, it's about open, lively discussion which is not mean-spirited.

I like Huckabee's protestation that people's faith needs to be challenged and can withstand being challenged because stances of faith are not stoic but rather passionate.

Just have some fun as you assert your worldview and don't take anyone too seriously-- especially yourself.

 

I can't decide if I am enjoying rhester or giddyup's post more. Tough call!

I would love to hear the "... own you from time to time" spoken from the pulpit!

 

I'm on the Obama side now but am still have some skepticism and had some pretty heated threads against some of the Obamaniacs during the primaries so I feel like sort of a free agent here.

I have no problem with any of the other posters and I don't a favorite poster but here are some of the ones I will single out that I have been on the other side of a debate from.

Rimrocker and Ottomaton both seem like the most well informed posters and I'm always impressed by the amount of information they find.

Batman Jones - Probably the most passionate poster and while I find his passion gets the beter of him every now and then you have to admire his willingness to go to the mat for his views.

Weslinder - A very thoughtful guy with some great insights and genuinely good guy both in person and online.

halfbreed - A very smart guy and I often enjoy reading his posts for his insights.

Hayestreet - The most clever poster and I would hate to ever be under a cross-examination with him.

Basso - While he gets a lot of grief for the volume and slant of the threads he starts I think he is one of the more complex posters. An East Coast cultural elite who politically is a reactionary conservative. An interesting mix.

MadMax and Rhester - Arrogant blowhards who make Forrest Gump look like Albert Einstein.. No of course wonderful people both online and in person but all of the accolades have been used up about them.

Major - Another very smart guy who can put together some very sound arguments.

Franchiseblade - Probably the most idealistic poster. While Rimrocker is the liberal head loaded with knowledge and Batman Jones is the liberal hand that forcefully pushes the issues FB is the liberal heart who keeps the faith.

There are a lot more posters who I have crossed rhetorical swords with and I could go on on but I will in general I've admired most of the D & D and honestly think this is one of the best sites for discussions of controversial subjects.
