There are alot of bad ones out there. I think Stu Jackson is the worst ever (spent 3 straight top 4 lotto picks on point guards and left the team with none of them).
St. Jean is terrible, but he lucked into Arenas so I guess he isnt the worst. Although J-Rich, Pietrus (blown trade), Mark Jax and Mookie Blaylock were all poor additions.
I think the worst is Layden. Only Layden would sign Shandon Anderson to a nearly 50 mil contract. Give Houston 100 mil. Give Spoon 40 mil. Also the Nene trade was horrible.

Yup, Layden is terrible...... or atleast the people telling Layden what to do are terrible. I wonder who they over pay with their MLE this year. Maybe they can give Jon Barry a 6 yr 44 mil deal.

He's a nice guy, but the worst has gotta be Wes Unseld. Over the past twenty years the Wizards have been the worst team in basketball...even worse than the Clippers.

And he's rewarded with the chairmanshhip of the USA Basketball Mens Senior National Team Committee, which has taken the men's program to unheard of new lows....congratulations Stu!

I say Cleveland. Let's look at the facts....

*We hire Jim Paxon for the 98-99 season
*The last time we made the playoffs was 97-98
*The last time we were on national television was 97-98
*The last time we had a player in the AS game was 97-98
*His first act as GM was to fire Mike Fratello. We have had 3 coaches in the last 4 years

He absolutely killed our franchise! Hopefully LeBron can get us back on track...

Yep, Unseld broke the cardinal rule, "Never, ever trade bigger for smaller." Richmond was on his way out for sure, not just physically but desire wise as well. Cleveland has been a disaster since Fratello got the axe because he played a style of basketball that was "not entertaining" to the fans. Folks, all the fans care about is winning. The Cavs already had a center (Big Z) with foot problems, so they draft high school big man Desagana Diop who, you guessed, has problems with his feet (two surgeries!!!!). Then they trade Jamal Crawford, who could be the Cavs present and future point, to Chicago in the draft for big-time softie bust Chris Mihm, who looks about as clueless as any big man I've ever seen. Has he cracked the starting lineup on that crappy team yet? He has the "I'm White and I'm tall" syndrome like Jason Collier. At least the Rox didn't trade anybody of consequence for Collier like the Cavs did. Another thing that kills me about the Cavs, they trade away their point for a project player in Darius Miles, who joined a team of projects (Diop, Wagner, Ricky "Headcase I-Wanna-B.S.-My-Way-To-A-Triple-Double" Davis). Where's the plan except for lose enough to draft hometown goldenboy LeBron? Terrible management indeed.

For the love of God, Richard Jefferson was New Jersey's pick. Not ours. >_<

We didn't draft him and then decide to trade him on a whim. We decided on the trade beforehand and drafted RJ for the Nets.

A sentimental vote for Stu(pid) Jackson for the powerhouse he helped build in Vancouver, followed up with the brilliance of his selections for the US World Champ team.

If only he had the longevity and budget of Scott Layden he could have truly shown his genius.

    Jerry Krause:

He drafted Elton Brand, and traded him for Tyson Chandler in the same year he drafted Eddy Curry, bringing two high-schoolers on the team the same year.

He drafted Ron Artest and signed Brad Miller to a FA deal, and traded them for Jalen Rose.

He traded Kukoc for the draft pick of Jamal Crawford, and then drafted Jay Williams to compete with him.

He drafted Marcus Fizer and signed Donyell Marshall to a 3-yr deal.

Pat Riley is a bad GM, but he is a good coach.:p

He traded Mashburn and PJ Brown for E. Jones. Signed E Jones to a long-term max deal. Signed Grant a long-term deal. Give Howard a 100mil contract (that's stupid), but got lucky so that Washington signed Howard a 100 mil contract.

He is clueless about dollars and senses even though he is a very good coach.

I actually think Chandler will become the better power forward compared to Brand. So, this wasn't a bad move. Chandler is tall and extremely quick. He fits the prototypical player of the future for his position (see KG/Duncan). He has progressively been getting better. Also, Curry had a monstrous second half of the season last year. He really started dominating down low while collecting the best field goal % this year. I believe this coming up season will be a break out season for Curry. In 2-3 years Curry and Chandler are going to make one of the best frontcourts in the NBA. It's too bad that Krause won't get the credit for what he created. Krause made one huge mistake by not keeping the Bulls dynasty going. There probably was a good reason why Krause did it, whether it be because Jordan was asking to much or that he didn't want to extend Phils contract. Fan's didn't like Krause and they never will cause he was seen as a fat unfriendly man. Who made 2 huge mistakes 1) Breaking up Bull's dynasty 2) Choosing Tim Floyd as head coach. These mistakes have never been forgiven and have hurt the Bulls. For example, during free agency several top free agent players have not chosen to play for the Bulls because of the messy splitting of the dynasty.

But beyond all the crap that is out there, Krause is excellent at evaluating talent. Perhaps, one of the best in the history of the NBA. It's too bad he won't be given credit for that. Perhaps, if Krause was a better looking guy, a more friendly guy, he would have been given the credit for what he has done. He has potentially given the Bulls another chance at another dynasty.

Lets see, McHale can get a should be all star pg in Cassell for Joe Smith while BY doesn't have a legit pg. Doesn't Cassell for for Thomas make alot of sense for NY. Give another vote to scott Layden.

    Those are pretty hilarious!!!!!!!

Anyways....he did make our team suck so bad that we got Yao Ming!!! So that's good.

He also traded Joel Pryzbilla....who sucks....for a future first round draft pick and Jason Collier.....who sucks. So basically....we got a first round draft pick for free.

    He's a nice guy.

WORST GM? I guess Scott Layden..maybe Larry Brown.

I agree with some of your points, but to my way of thinking, a Bulls team of Elton Brand, Ron Artest, Brad Miller, Ron Mercer, Jamal Crawford, and Marcus Fizer would have already made the playoffs for the Bulls and would likely have as much if not more upside then the current Bulls roster.
