Everything you just said was that the Cowboys were better THAT DAY. And you can make an argument that they're the better team, generally. But the argument that they must be a better team, generally, because they were better THAT DAY is illogical.
Ok so, I guess I should have said what caused the discussion between me and my friend (fail)... He always resorts to "talk to me when the Texans make the playoffs", or "how many super bowl rings do y'all have?".. ." Personally, that pisses me off because I hate it when sports fans live in the past. I mean come on its the 2010-2011 season people!! My argument is, that ok yeah the Cowboys have won superbowls and made playoffs, but that was waayyyy before the Texans were in existence. Lets talk about the present time. Although I am a Houston fan, the stats, players, and record all point to Houston being the better team. Rhino17 made the comparisson earlier between the teams' players and I couldn't have done it better myself. Just because the Cowboys won 1 game in Houston doesn't make them the better TEAM. Every team has a off day. The Texans just happened to have one against the Cowboys. Texans> Cowboys
Ware is the best 3-4 OLB in the NFL and is a great pass rusher. Cushing, imo, is the best 4-3 OLB in the NFL. The two positions are not comparable really. But in the end, Dallas has one all pro linebacker, the texans have 2
the cowboys looked like they had a triple threat at WR. Their running game is garbage but they did get us with the delayed handoffs. THeir O-Line was great nobody as much as breathed on Romo. We'll see how the cowboys look for the rest of the season. Im a huge Texans fan btw. So we have the edge at RB..
I think they are both a good head coach away from the Super Bowl....in fact, if they both had good head coaches, they just might meet again
I absolutely hate when the Texans lose. Losing to Dallas sucks on every level. One game head to head never tells the whole story. All I have to say right now is, Texans 3-1 in first place. Dallas 1-2 last place.
Believe it or not, there are Houston morons out there who still root for Bud Adams' team. Falling into the "not-quite-as-bad-as-pathetic-Oiler-fans" category are the Houstonian Dallas fans.
What is the point of asking this question if you knew the response you were going to get? If anyone on here actually believes that the texans D is better than the cowboys that is pure homerism. The texans look pretty good. They have an elite O.
Unless something drastic has changed since the Cowboys beat the Texans, 2 weeks ago, then you have to say cowboys. There should be no discussion, its not like the teams havent played each other or its 10 weeks later and the teams have gone in different directions. Cowboys easily beat the Texans, in Houston. They are the better team right now.
The Astros are better than the Phillies. After all, they swept them a few weeks ago, in Philadelphia.
The 2007 Super Bowl Champs, the Giants, lost to the Cowboys that year. So I guess the Cowboys were the best team that year, right?
So you agree that hanging your hat on either argument is stupid? BTW, the Giants beat the Cowboys in the playoffs on their way to that Super Bowl.
Actually the Giants defensive line happened. I do agree that the Pats got over confident but they had the lead late in the 4th qtr and the Giants made the plays while the Pats did not. Giants were the better team as evidence by that nice shiny trophy. To early to tell on the Texans/Cowboys argument, record goes to the Texans but head to head goes to the Boys. I think Texans are the better team but they need to show it over a longer period of time to have the definite edge.
