LL you talkin crazier than Margot Kidder on my front lawn with this bull****. I ****s with your little indie beats and ****, but this navajo jive is crab juice to my mountain dew.
would you like to take a look at some of Tony Gonzales' QB's? Damon Huard. Tyler Thigpen. Elvis Grbac. Todd Collins. Brodie Croyle. psshhh. Please. His best two QB's were Trent Green and Rich Gannon. If Gates doesn't break Tony Gonzales' all time records than he sucks or can't stay healthy. If Gonzales had Drew Brees and Phillip Rivers as his QB for the majority of his career....this **** wouldn't even be funny.
It would be Gates but he's never fully healthy/ always has nagging injuries. I don't like the Cowboys very much but I'd say Witten is the best overall blocker and most consistent TE out there. I like reliable players that you can count on.
Antonio Gates without a doubt. Vernon Davis is getting better, and he is a great TE, but cant compare to Gates. And Antonio Gates wasnt even drafted, because he played more basketball than football during high school and college.
Antonio Gates is head and shoulders above the rest. He is a tier 1 guy the rest are after him. A few of them bunched up in a Tier 2. The rest are just whatever.
Hard to say, really. Receiving - Gates Blocking - Davis or Witten Route running - Clark or Gonzo Speed - Davis Hands - Gonzo
you don't need a legit #1 if you have a healthy gates on your roster gonzalez is over 4 years older. it's not even close right now
Jason Witten Pros - Clutch pass catcher who catches nearly everything thrown his way - Good at gaining post-catch yards albeit not mind-blowing Cons - Crummy blocker - False starts (almost one per game) - Pushes off (pass interference) - Mental lapses
I love Gates, drafted him in the 5th, but his 'game time decisions' this year killed me, especially last week in week 1 of the playoffs.
Before this season Gates has been nails. Missing like 1 game in 4 seasons, even though he was always on the injury report for leg injuries or turf toe.
Jason Witten quickest to 600 catches and only fourth in NFL history (after today's game and stats of 10 catches, 140 yards, 1 TD): The reception made him the fourth tight end in NFL history with 600 catches. Having done so in 125 career games, he also became the fastest to 600. Tony Gonzalez did it in 134 games.
Those stats don't make Witten better than anyone else though, he's just in the right situation. I'm not saying he isn't good, but you can't judge a tight end on stats like that. You've gotta watch the games and make a decision.
