No, I meant the best shooters overall from mid range and further.

I don't mean one dimensional types, I mean guys who you just don't want to leave open on the perimeter or have time to set his feet and take a jumper if you are on the opposing team, or come off a pick and get off a quick jumper a la Miller.

Todays best IMO are Peja and Dirk. Oh and of course Eric Piatkowski! ;)

Kinda off topic, but anyone remember when Dream would be finishing pre-pre-game warmups, how he would go to half-court and causually flip up a shot flat fooded and would drain it?

Just goes to show how unreal and talented these guys are.

Are you saying Blackman wasn't a great shooter? I was about to list him as someone who hadn't been mentioned. The guy was great.

    Also: Mitch Richmond

Ro was outstanding...just not in the same class as Dale Ellis and Larry Bird. Ironically Ro is the Reason that Dale Ellis never got a fair shake in Dallas.

Ro was an excellent shooter. Almost 50% for his career which is mind bongling for a shooting guard. However, he was more of a mid range jump shooter (15-20). If you looks at his career stats, every year, with the exception of 1 (where he made 65), he never made more than 40 3 pters or attempted more than 114.

I think his lack of range has to exclude him from the class of Bird, MIller and Ellis.

Still, 50% shooting from just inside the arc is incredible.

Don't forget Ro could also take it to the Rim. I just never feared his outside shot the way I did Larry Bird and Dale Ellis.

TMAC!?!?!?! There is no way TMAC will ever be a great shooter... How many shots the he attempt.. Now attempting 1800+ and just making 800+ is not what you consider a great shooter

I think I would rank him with the great CLUTCH SHOOTERS... now that guy mest up Dallas, and also did some great things in Chicago..

I like Ro Blackman too. In fact, he's the only Maverick I liked in the '80s. He was as good as Miller coming off the pick, one of the quickest release I've seen. He could curl off from a pick, catch the ball, jump, turn in mid air, and shoot in one single motion. It's a beauty to watch.

I concur that he didn't have the range of the other guys mentioned. But he was a good penetrator and that's why his % was so good.
