you know Morey (and every other team) has contingencies already mapped out in the event any player goes down

If they don't make a move, it means they never thought there was anyone better than Canaan out there.

I imagine Garcia will be inserted into the guard rotation. Both Lin and Harden can function as point guards, and perhaps Garcia can hold down the 2 for 20 minutes a game.

So your saying ppl are wrong for assuming he's not gonna succeed given a opportunity? You really think he's gonna kill it? We shall see

I like how all of a sudden in this thread the idea of a guy being able to shut a guy down on his own is now valid.

In the past when an opponent went off we always heard defense is a TEAM thing.

I guess it just matters when the "facts" fit your argument.

Our depth is lin and canaan and i would add mike james if we can and if he can still run.

Doesnt matter though because this opens up more time for asik and other players.

harden simply running the point that much more.

Personally I think it's wrong to assume EITHER position. We just don't know either way.

I wouldn't bet against anyone or for anyone until we see WHAT they can do over a larger number of games in the play offs. 1.5 games is not nearly enough to form anything resembling a conclusion. And that's without even talking about the injury factor.

For example, do you know that James Harden scored ZERO points in his first 2 play off games on 5 shot attempts in 26 minutes? AND he had a turnover to boot?

    http://www.basketball-reference.com...p=gt&c4val=&order_by=date_game&order_by_asc=Y

Yet this is SAME James Harden that is the #1 SG in the league today. However, had you judged him by his first TWO play off games, you'd have written him off as a complete scrub using your standards.

Perhaps the wiser course is to NOT get our expectations too high OR too low and wait and see?

Defense is complicated. The average fan does not understand positioning, rotation and situational awareness on defense. Not to mention tag distances or probably even the simple concept of when to go over versus under a screen. There are exactly four plus defenders on the Rockets roster. Howard, Asik, Bev and D-Mo. I would recommend watching D-Mo on defense. Guard play can at times be to fast to understand. D-Mo is very deliberate and you can watch him make the right decisions in real time. He has taught me a lot about NBA defenses since the beginning of 2014. Watch his rotations, his defensive positioning and how he fluidly recovers back to his main cover from the weak side. D-Mo will probably get beat by Blake a few times tonight. But he almost always is there step for step with Blake making him shoot over all seven feet.

What he did say proves that he is a true rocket .

I like the option of Harden playing PG , and anyone else can fill up the spot shooter rule

I am willing to look at any options at this point. I just don't have any confidence anymore that Lin can even be a decent 6th man anymore. He just looks so... bad out there.
