MCP = Most Chandler Parsons.

He's in the lead so far.

 

Harden is probably among the Top 2 when healthy but he isn't exactly the Harden of last year.

Dude had some 44+ point games.

Is this based on expectations?

Because no way Parsons and Bev are our 2 best players.

Yeah I hear you. Even if I had never heard of any of our players before and did not know their contracts, there is now way Parsons and Bev our the 2 best guys.

in fact I would say that because you know Howard and Harden's contract situation, they are lower on the list than they should be.

Jones is number 3?

 

He might not be healthy or as good as last season, but he has been the best thus far.

 

Parsons +/- so far: -15.4

Not a number one type performance.

 

Harden, Lin and Howard. i wish parsons could get back to his trademark of hands up and quick feet on D.

 

Who played best up to now?

1. Harden - nice points, lazy d. But he's injured so he could do better.
2. Dwight - his presence alone alters a lot of shots. If he hits his fts more i'd give him top
3. Lin - consistent and improved left hand.
4. Parsons - started slow, getting more consistent lately.
5. Jones - break out games after the tt experiment
6. Patbev - most consistent rocket on defense

underperformed so far
1. Garcia - not himself in the past few games, should redeem himself
2. Asik - he could do better if he sets himself to do it. Has gotten back on track lately so we'll see.

Wish i could see more
1. DMo - has great post moves. It's even more effective than dwight's.
2. Brewer - i have not seen his defensive skills on display this year yet

 

I am using a different method - (which is quite tedious so I am only tracking some of our players) - but up till about the 10th game our players are ranked thusly:
Averaged RV points:
J. Harden - 1331
D. Howard - 1310
J. Lin - 1274
C. Parsons - 1261
P. Beverley - 1242
O. Asik - 1231
(T. Jones values not ready yet - but hopefully when I complete 15 game calculations for Rockets, I will post his averaged RV).

 

Parsons was consistently off for several games and his defense is overrated

 

1. Harden: needs to work on defense and getting into the offensive flow and not trying to do too much and making the offense too Harden-centric at times
2. Howard: only because of the shot blocking and rebounds. offensively needs to stop insisting on posting because post game is not that good. should set better screens, be active in PnR, pass out of double and triple teams better.
3. Lin: continue working on ball handling under pressure, decision making at times when driving because some drives lead to turn-overs, over-helping on defense and losing his man. keep working on medium-range game and diversifying his offense near the rim, it's paying off.
4. Parsons: sometimes he's 3rd best for a stretch of games, sometimes he flip flops with Lin. recognize his limitations and not try to do too much. Let a point guard or Harden run things. get his D back to where it could be.

I'm not sure where to put the rest of the guys, but Beverley and T. Jones are crucial players on the team. I hope Asik could be integrated more but he needs more minutes and probably wants to go to another team. Casspi is big off the bench, Garcia needs to improve. Don't know why D-Mo doesn't play more, he's got game.

Parsons had a miserable start to season although he is probably playing the best of all the players lately. Still hasnt found his 3pt shot and his D has regressed.

Lin has been on fire and has improved almost every aspect of his game. Only 1-2 games he was off (1x17min. game).

Hardens averages are down across the board and his D has really been exposed. Still an elite player though.

Dwights rebounding and blocks are spectacular but his post moves have not improved and his TOs are up again. His play has been inconsistent.

Beverley has been eclipsed by Lin in almost every statistic even though they play about the same minutes. He hasnt really proved much defensively but his 3pt shot is improving.

HANDS DOWN LIN HAS PLAYED THE BEST SO FAR.
