We can't be serous about Chris Webber that's the same with Juwan. Plus we would get murdered by teams that run. No way we need Athletes.

if bonzi is on this team, the rockets could run ALOT of different lineups with a few long athletic PFs.

I can see them splitting the MLE with a few different guys or going with just one.

marcus camby would be great. simply because he can compliment yao AND back us up at center. we could run a deke camby c/pf lineup and really be dominant defensively when yao is out. his issue is health.

darko and magloire would also work well.

    say no to antoine walker...

i see the rox drafting BPA and focusing on filling the 4. i gotta say, i like that we have now have only ONE HOLE(pf) and not two (pf, pg).

Or Rashard Lewis. But he isn't as bulky as Odom so it wouldn't work. Artest on the other hand...

Need a shot blocker/rebounder to anchor the defense, doesn't have to be an offesnive star, just someone who can finish strong. A Ben Wallace type of guy.

some realistic options that would be good fits:

pj brown -vet with good reb

amir johnson- young talent with potential

c-webb- vet with a good jump shot

darius songalia- good reb/hustle guy who is familiar with adelman

Sorry but to start off with you didn't notice all the holes
Mike James is not The starting Playmaker Point Guard- he will add scoring, determination, strength and speed but not doing what a Point Guard is supposed to do. If Tracy moves to the Shooting Guard Position I see Mike James as his back up- this would be the Scenario if we get Artest to play the small Forward Roll, With Camby playing the Power Forward along Yao Ming.

that is one really weak PF free agent pool. i'd think i'd rather have Shane at the 4 than any of those guys...

if that's the case, Rockets need to start thinking about upgrading the 2/3 spot (unless Bonzi stays on board), and just draft the best PF available for the future although Almond wouldn't be bad either.

We need a PF that works well with Yao like OT did with Hakeem.

Let's resurrect the dead after looking at that FA list:

    Dennis Rodman
    Karl Malone
    Horace Grant

McDyess (not for a full MLE)???
Are you kidding me????   Mcdyess for full MLE 3 year contract. You will be fool if you do not pull the trigger on that. Mcdyess will be a perfect fit for YAO. He rebounds, defends and has an awesome mid-range game.

I am also intrigued by the idea of bringing Camby in for Battier.

But just to play devil's advocate here, camby is 33 and will be 36 by the time his contract runs out. that's kind've playing with fire when you're talking about a guy who hasn't had the best track record health-wise, as opposed to battier who is a horse.

also cambys stock is at an all-time high (well maybe not all-time...but at least as high as it is going to be until he retires). denver's asking price is going to be pretty considerable since good big men are in such a high demand.

I suspect that you are about to be broke!!!
Webber isn't tall enough or athletic enough to play the type of Power Forward needed by the Rockets to play along side of Yao Ming. He will have no loyalty to our team and he is in the closing time of his career. I would sooner trade Battier and get Marcus Camby who could fill the position and be with us fora good five years.
