Fiction. Only because the Hornets would be absolutely stupid to let David West go for anyone not name Yao or McGrady on our team. He's their best scorer and their 2nd best rebounder.
Shawn Marion might be viable. The suns are looking to unload him for salery cap reasons so how about the following Shane Battier Rafer Alston Bobby Sura Works under the cap. The Suns get a true small forward that can play in their offensive system. A back up point guard in Rafer Cap relief with Sura. We all know Marion can play PF and that would allow TMac to move back to the 3 spot.
If we got ZR put us in the Finals NOW !!!!! But we will never get Randolph !!!!!! Whats Ralph Sampson up to now a days ? Who's the idiot that asked to bring KT back.....? Horrible, almost the worst post of the year !!
Battier, Sura, Snyder and Lucas (13.85M) for AK47 (13.71M) This would leave the Rockets the Rockets with 7 roster places to fill and if Bonzi opts have the Rockets at around 60M. Let's say Hayes & Deke re-sign for the min, subtract the 26th pick. That's 4 roster spaces to split the MLE. It's workable but the biggest hurdle is Utah having to want to salary dump bad enough.
First post.. been waiting for something to say. To start things off, I know this wont completly solve our PF problem, but I think it could help us out a bit. Outgoing Luther Head Bob Sura V-Span #26 pick if necessary Incoming Alexander Johnson Mike Miller First of all, this would instantly be a chemistry booster. Mike Millers best two friends in the league are two current Houston Rockets. Tracy McGrady (who was irate when he was traded from Orlando) and Shane Battier a good friend from his days in Memphis. Second.. this is a huge offensive upgrade. Rick Adelman knows how to use a pure shooter, and I think Millers game now is vey comparable to Pejas who was an all star under Adelman. Third, Miller has come off the bench several times in his career and would be a great 6th man to help us counter the Spurs, Mavs, and Suns bench. Alexander Johnson is also an impressive shotblocker who hustles, rebounds, and could be a good defender to put on the likes of Tim Duncan and Amare Stoudamire. I feel this would be a no brainer for the Rockets, if only the Grizzlies would part with Miller, who will probably bolt as a free agent when his contract expires. Line Up PG- James/Alston/Lucas SG- McGrady/Wells/Snyder SF- Battier/Miller/Novak PF- Hayes/Johnson/26th pick C- Yao/Deke/Jake There you go.. easy as that.
Rather more like this:- XX V Span TMAC James Artest Hayes Novac XXp xxv Yao xxc Mut Several more trades, etc to go
I would go really hard at Amir Johnson now. The Pistons would have a hard time patching a good portion of the MLE deal for Johnson, it would put them significantly into the Lux tax area with Billups etc. This team is going to look a lot different under RA....... DD
Here's an idea: Knicks need another shooter. Luther Head + 26th Pick for Renaldo Balkman. Balkman's rebounding rate is Chuck-Hayes-esque. Not quite as strong, but more atheletic.
never, ever buy-high on role players. someone will overpay for him because they expect him to continue doing what he did in NJ. however, any athletic big playing with kidd will look good (see kmart).
good point..that and also jason kidd makes everyone better..so dont ever invest in anyone playing with jkidd...look at bokie now..hes their tmac...lol jk
The Rockets would have to send is much money out as they take in...so it would not neccesarily put the Rockets into luxery tax territory.
Alston James Spanoulis McGrady Head (Diener) Battier (26th pick) (vacant) (<9.9M) (Ilyasova) (Medvedenko) Yao (Hayes) (Deke) Trade Sura, Lucas, and Snyder for a player up to 9.9M
the answer at pf is rasheed wallace. he can defend duncan better than just about anybody in the league, and hes fast, strong, big enough to take on the boozers and stoudemires of the west as well. he can also create bigtime matchup problems because he is a great post defender while specializing in offense from outside. he would really thrive on the open 3s generated by tmac and yao. he and artest are obviously mutually exclusive as no team can function with the 2 hottest heads in the league, but i think rasheed would fit in very well on our team. Hes averaged 35% or so the last few seasons from downtown and 7 or 8 rebounds in about 34 mins a game. detroit also wants to clear him out of the way to let amir johnson step up and prove himself with heavier minutes. detroit is going to want to get an infusion of young athletes as chauncey and rip get older by the day. i think its reasonable to offer the 26th, sura, and snyder or head to the pistons for him. The sheed is the answer at 4.
