Well, from what I can see I don't really know what the Rocket's can do. The thing is, you trade to get better, not stay the same or get worse. If we put Rafer and Head or Head and Battier together in a trade, we need to have a good return for it. If we trade away Rafer and JL3 we are back to having only one real pg and Mike is more of a shoot first guy. I have a hard time trading Battier because he's such a hard worker on the court and we don't have many. If the trade were for David Lee I might do it because David Lee is about on the same level as battier in terms of heart and hussle in my book and it would allow T-Mac to go back to the three spot and Bonzi would tear up the two. The only people I would trade if I could would be Rafer or Luther head (not both) Sura (cheap buyout), V-Span (even cheaper buyout), JL3. I wouldn't trade both Head and Alston because even though they might not be great players or good trade's, they are big pieces of our team and as I said at the first, you want to trade to get better not stay the same. I didn't put Synder in there because he is still young and I think he will do a lot better in Adelman's system then JVG's system. He is more of a slasher than a jump shooter and he had to be a jump shooter in JVG's system. I know it sounds crazy, but I think Rafer might even be a little better since he won't have to shoot as many jump shots if T-Mac is going to be the finisher. Rafer would also be good to have as a back up point guard, since that what's we traded to get him for. Sura was supposed to be the starter. He doesn't have great offense, but he is a low turnover guy and was good at getting us into the offense, unlike JL3 who couldn't stop dribbling. With hopefully a better Bonzi back and Mike James here, it will take a lot of the scoring pressure off of him and we won't see many 13-14 shot attempts from him. Preferred projection 1 Mike James /Rafer 2.Bonzi/ Kirk /Luther?/ 3.Tracy/ Battier?/Novak or Bonzi 4. ???TBD /Chuck Hayes 5.Yao /Deke /maybe Jake if he stays I think we have a decent line up with that
I don't like the idea of a trade involving primarily Battier for Lee. FYI, Lee has been troubled by the same leg injury for the past two seasons.
I think Frye could be a nice starting PF in Adelmen's system... On the other hand, I like David Lee as well.. Scenario One Outgoing: Alston, Head, 2008 1st rounder Incoming: Channing Frye, Rudy Fernandez, filter Scenario Two(3 teams trade) Outgoing: (Houston) Sura + Vspan + Snyder(or 2008 1st rounder) + Head (Sacramento) Ron Artest (New York) David Lee + Future 1st rounder + filter Incoming: (Houston) David Lee + filter (Sacramento) Sura, Vspan, Snyder(or 2008 1st rounder), Head, NY future 1st rounder (New York) Ron Artest Kings could get cap relieve to rebuild the team next year, as well as the 3 point threat in Luther Head and two potential 1st rounders.. (I think this is better than any offer they have on the table) New York needs an SF and they really seem like Artest. After they acquire Randolf, David Lee is much more expendable than before
Rockets need to try and pry away the draft rights of Joel Freeland from Portland. http://blog.oregonlive.com/blazers/2007/07/things_i_saw_at_practice.html http://www.columbian.com/sports/localNews/07062007news164125.cfm
If this is realistic..... We should do lee, Q, and balkman for head, battier, sura, spanoulis. It would work under your proposal and the salary cap. But i dont think this would ever happen!!!!
IF we can get Camby, I will say Rockets is a searious contender next season. Do not get me wrong, I know camby is injury prone. So what, DPOY means a lot!!!! Camby can handle any elite PFs in the west. He is a perfect fit to YAO. Midrange shot, block & rebound. Man I will go nuts if morey pulls a trade like this.
I dont think Hoopsworld has ever printed anything true, so I wouldn't put much stock in this until we hear word about them being in talks.
I do think that Denver is a more realistic trade partner than New York. What about Portland or Seattle? Might be able to get Collison. He has stats similar to Andres Biedrins last year then he hit a stretch where he couldn't score or rebound.
udonis haslem The Houston Rockets need a power forward, and as much as everyone would have liked to see them get something done on draft day, this team needs an experienced power forward to hold down the paint next to Yao Ming. They need a power forward who can rebound, who can hit the mid-range jumper like Juwan Howard, but also plays great defense and has playoff experience. Tall order? Impossible? Hardly. The Miami Heat are actively shopping Udonis Haslem, and he is exactly what the Rockets need at the four. He owns a championship ring, he has an incredible work ethic, he has the mid-range jumper almost out to three, and he has a nose for rebounding. What's more, the Rockets can probably get him for Rafer Alston. The salaries add up, Rafer was an incredibly popular player while he was in Miami (and they were great with him running the floor), and the Heat are desperately seeking a point guard. Rafer knows what it means to run with a big man, and can keep defenses honest with his three-point jumper when he's hot. He takes some pressure off Shaq, and he has outstanding floor vision. Frankly, while Alston is not Jason Kidd by any stretch of the imagination, he is one of the better mid-range point guards out there. The Rockets would be crazy to give him up . . .if they hadn't just acquired Mike James. Mike James needs to be The Man. When the Raptors gave him the ball and told him to run he had an astounding season, scoring with the best of them and greatly complementing Chris Bosh. Now, with Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady at his side, James would be the piece that helps Rick Adelman get this team beyond the first round of the playoffs . . .finally. Adding Udonis Haslem to the fold would also be a giant leap in that direction. The Heat are involved in discussions with a number of teams, with the predominant rumor being that they could acquire Mike Bibby from the Sacramento Kings. But Alston is a better floor leader than Bibby, and his attitude is immeasurably better. Given his background with Miami and the depth of the Heat's need at the point, he should be getting a lot of love from South Florida. And Haslem should, likewise, be getting plenty of love from South Texas. By Bill Ingram for *************** Jul 6, 2007, 20:57haslem for rafer??????
I appreciate your effort but Hoopsworld is the worst source for information. They just put up junk and hope that people will read it.
