Sheed seems like a longshot, he has made Detriot contenders since arriving so I'm sure it gonna be hard to pry him away. Webber is probably more do-able, but his name really hasnt been mentioned by any articles relating to the Rockets.
I doubt it. Morey already stated that he isn't going to offer the full MLE to any one player. Once again, some Rockets fans are setting themselves up for disappointment.
Really i dont think that Sonics really needs Battier. They have 2 great young SF's in Durant and Green. They are more thin at SG and C. Not sure we could help them much there, unless they want some expiring contracts or Bonzi and crap. The drafting of Durant and Green could have possibly hurt the Battier/Wilcox trade in that aspect.
Since when is 7.7 rebounds a game sucky???!!! You need a reality check. Go look at the top 50 rebounders in the NBA and tell me that 7.7 rebounds a game is trash. Wilcox is ranked 34 in rebounding. You think we are going to pay to get the number one rebounder Kevin Garnett at 12.8 rebounds per game??? He rebounded better than Shaq last year and was just behind Big Z and Chris Kaman. Hell ya I take Wilcox.
There is rumor saying NY is looking to acquire Artest and they might package David Lee to the Kings.. If this is true, anyway we can bribe Lee to the Rockets?..
I could only see NY wanting Alston from our roster, as a back-up to Marbury, but I doubt they would sacrifice Lee for that.
Well, I didn't actually call it "sucky". I specifically described his rebounding ability as mediocre. And that it is. I do appreciate the reality check though. I especially appreciate the part about how he's ranked 34th in the league in rebounding. Of course, another way to look at it is that he's ranked 96th in the league in rebounding per 48 minutes. Another thing we could look at is the fact that Chris Wilcox is the starter in Seattle, there are 30 teams in the league and yet he's ranked 34th in rebounding. That means that he's a worse rebounder than most every starter in the league and a handful of bench players too. And yet another thing we could look at is the fact that in Juwan Howard's last year in Orlando, before being traded to Houston, He averaged 17 ppg and 7 rpg in just 4 more minutes of playing time than Chris Wilcox. Man, I'm sure glad we pried that stud away from Orlando. And oh yeah, Juwan did that with neither the height nor the athleticism of Chris Wilcox. Which brings me back to why I don't want Chris Wilcox - the dude has no heart, no desire to be good, no will to win. Either that, or he's as stupid as Stromile Swift. In either case, those kind of players don't make you better. But you know, he does LOOK like a power forward.
And I would have to guess that Lee is who Sacramento wants. When you trade a superstar for pennies on the dollar, the least you get out of it is young talent and draft picks. David Lee is young talent. I'm sure he's a key part of the deal.
Don't know if its been posted yet. What about Reggie Evans from Denver for Rafer Alston? Denver gets a better player, in Alston, than Steve Blake, who is asking for 6 million per season and we get our PF.
With the Salary we are able to offer and with the trade assets that we have, we have to look at what we are able to get realistically. If you can convince the Rockets Management to make the deals and go over the cap ya, then you can go out and get yourself a banging power forward like Carlos Boozer. Well it's nice to want things isn't it?
Best post I have seen in some time! Don't get me wrong, I'd take Wilcox for any deal just shy of Battier. But I liked the post. I say if Lee is of interest why bother working through Sac. Lee + Q salary dump for Battier + (Alston, or Sura + 1st) Lee + even worse salary dump (Jeffries, Rose, James) for Battier + (Novak or JL3) Battier would be a real stablizing influence on the Knicks. Despite the talent gap, I think he would help their team more than Artest. Artest, Crawford, Marbury, Q and Randolph just seem like a talented but hopeless starting 5 chemistry wise.
