I'd hope there would be more differences between the two games besides just textures. I haven't followed the Xbox version of the game that closely, but I believe the 360 version has great use of HDR and other lighting techniques, something I doubt the Xbox could do. I don't know much about how easy it would be to support both games despite different platforms, but it just seems like it would be hard to do if Ubisoft was really taking advantage of the 360 hardware (which it appears they are doing, better than almost any other developer I've seen). Perhaps it could be done though; it would be great if they could pull it off, especially without limiting the 360 version somehow. And since FN3 was brought up, here's a new video of the game: http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/766/766603/vids_1.html I don't think I have to say how amazing it looks.
So.. now that it's out and you guys have been playing it... how much better is the 360 over the original xbox?
its smoother and slicker. it takes awhile to get use to the sharpness of the graphics. though there aren't many games out there, i like PG3 and call of duty. I'm so so on Perfect Dark. I think the multiplayer is good on that game.
I played Halo 2 online for a while. I liked Battlefront 2. The thing about Halo 2 is that everyone got way to serious about it when you would play, and you would hear some of the most vile, disgusting, rasist language ever. I'd try to get into clans that had casual players that would play big games, but I could never find the right fit. I think its because I only played a couple hours every week and usually in the afternoon after work, not late at night or during the day. Anyways, I cancelled my XBOX live account and will probably reopen it once I get my hands on an XBOX 360 in a few months. I remember there was a Clutch BBS clan for a while, but nobody was ever online. Plus, if you tried to get a game started, nobody wanted to play.
... junkyard dwg You can usually find me playing Halo 2 or Battlefield 2. But if there's anyone out there that plays Top Spin please lemme know, I'd love to have some decent competition on that game.
gamertag: MASTER CHIEFERS I play NBA 2k6 online currently and would like to find some people to add to my friends list. I absolutely hate playing against people I don't know because it seems 90% are either stupid kids or people that exploit the games glitches. I will also be playing FNR3 when it comes out.
Look for gunslinger57. I'll play Halo 2 and COD2 online, although COD2's online play REALLY needs some work with game selection and creation.
The actual gameplay is very good, apart from the occassional stuttering when you get a lot of players from different areas. Game selection sucks. You basically shoose what sort of game you want to play, and it throws you into a random game based upon your choice. As far as I can tell, there's no way to create your own game or invite your friends apart from getting into a game and quickly inviting them via XBox 360's control panel before the game fills up. They REALLY need to fix it.
You will all forget the problems with CoD2's multiplayer when Ghost Recon:Advanced Warfighter comes out FYI, I read at 1up.com that they were working on getting a playable demo of GR:AW on Live ASAP... no link, to busy to look atm.
Are you talking about this? http://graw.1up.com/ While I'm talking about GRAW, here's some new official images at Xboxyde: http://www.xboxyde.com/news_2562_en.html
Oh believe me, I've been looking forward to Fight Night Round 3 and GRAW for a long time. Recon will be a first day purchase for me unless reviews indicate that it's horribly flawed in some way.
