The Rox won't make it this year. They simply don't know how to play as a team and on certain nights you can simplify that to they simply don't know how to play.
No lottery bound team will trade their pick until they know the order of selection lest they lose out on the LJ sweepstakes. Also, I would not classify Boki as a "throw-in" just yet.
I think Utah will have a terrible 2nd half to the season and they will miss the playoffs.........hell yeah
Rox finish 9th. The only way they'll make the playoffs is by default, if a superstar on another team gets injured. If Garnett is injured or Marbury is injured. Most likely, the Rox are out. Oh well. At least the Rox are ahead of the Warriors and the Sonics.
hahahahaha.. good one.. BTW, the same question was posed to Tim Legler of NBA tonight and the other gentlemen (older), and Tim voted the Rockets. He said that we dont know how to use Yao Ming.. It seems that everyone else knows this except Steve, Cat and Eddie.
A Chinese reporter asked Ming about this playoff question a few weeks ago. If rockets can get into the playoff, this reporter needs to apply the passport and visa to come here to cover the playoff games of Rockets. Usually it would take a few months to apply the visa. So this reporter wanted to know whether Rockets can make the playoff. Ming said,"We definitely can make it. You'd better to apply the visa now." So this reporter began to prepare all those documents: application, passport, visa.....,you name it.
windandsea, Who are you, anyway? I like Yao's enthusiasm. I can only hope he's right. But the Rockets are the most likely to slip. We do need consistency. Our power forwards (and, sometimes, Mobley's blindness [7'5" Chinese guy? where?]) hurt us.
Thanks for the update Windandsea. I have always enjoyed reading your posts. By the way, your English has improved dramatically since I first became a member. Good job!
either the rockets or the suns won't make the playoff. the suns won't because marbury is such a selfish player. he's not going to be able to lift the plays of his teammates needed to make the playoff.
if the rox continues to play poorly and Yao tires out eiht our stubborn guards, houston is out. On the bright side, Yao can rest and bulk up all summer to prepare for next year where he'll surely be a better, strronger player.
As much as I dislike the guy, he is a much better player than Francis right now. Marbury & Francis are the same type of PG with a shooters metallity, but Marbury is a much better ball handler, better distributer. The Suns have too much good players to fall. I was counting the Wolves out, but then yesterday's loss?!
If Lakers Go Up, Who Comes Down? as the lakers continue to play at this rate and advance into the playoffs, either the t-pups, jazz, suns or rockets are gonna be knocked out... i thought this was a pretty interesting read at espn.com (the link's at the bottom)...check out what they say bout the rox: Houston Rockets. Yao Ming finally gets acclimated to U.S. hoops -- and stops all the fancy touch-passing to Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley, who get their comeuppance for not giving up the rock the first three months. In turn, this eliminates any continuity the Rockets' offense ever had, forcing them to rely on their second-best defensive field-goal percentage even more. … A Feb. 18 loss to the Lakers knocks them into the ninth spot, and they never get back into the playoff picture after a brutal late-March, early-April stretch in which they play nine of 11 on the road, where they have won just seven of 21 so far. but it's a lot better if you read the article in its entirety at... http://espn.go.com/nba/columns/misc/1504319.html
I hate to say it, but i think the rockets will drop to 9th place. Suns are playing good, the senior players in Utah also playing well, they may not be athletic, but they have brains for the game. Rockets have none. Hope they prove me wrong.
