I wonder if the Rox could get Bobby Jackson? He would be a nice addition, either starting or 6th man.

i like earl watson. he hustles. i don't know that i'd want him as a starter, maybe, but i have doubts. i'd definitely love to see him as a back up though. brent barry is the best available guard i've seen mentioned here.

and again, for the 1058585866324949375th time. Nick Van Exel isn't a free agent until after next season.

I dunno. Jermaine O'Neal likes Tinsley, and they might be looking to keep the superstar happy.

Unless we got Tinsley, Artest and Croshere for McGrady (who said he'd play for the Pacers, but, then again, when this is over, he'll probably say he'd like to play for about 10 different teams).

GATER: Wht not Alston? Is it just that it's rude to bid on your brother's back up PG? What if another team is already bidding? I just see the same desire in this guy that I do in Steve but with a much much better A/TO ratio. If the TMAC thing has traction, I think he's the guy we need. Even if Steve stays, I think he would be a really valued backup.

Honestly, my favorite would be DFisher from the Lakers. A proven playoff PG, he could not play more than 25-30 MPG, but if a young backup (Duhon?) could be found, that would be enough to get into the playoffs.

Then, we could have a solid 8-man rotation for the playoff grind:

    Yao
    Cato/MoT
    JJ/Boki
    TMac
    Fish/Duhon

    Others I would consider:

If Nash goes to Phoenix, I would seriously look at Barbosa. I didn't get to see him much this year, but he looked long and fast, which we need badly.

Also, Van Exel could be an excellent addition alongside TMac. He's certainly not traditional (much like Steve), but he has an impeccable reputation as a clutch, pressure performer.

Snow could be had for Cat, or as part of a three-way involving Iverson. He would be great for a year or two, but not longterm. And as far as his contract goes, with what we paid Moochie, Snow is a bargain.

Some news about Brent Barry from ESPN: http://insider.espn.go.com/insider/rumorcentral?sport=nba

For those w.o insider, it basically says that the teams in the running for Brent Barry are the Sonics, Nets, Nuggets, Cavs, and Warriors .... says that Barry is looking for the mid-level exception of 5 million per year over 4 years, he recently turned down a 3 year deal for 18 million from the Sonics who are hoping they can still sign him.

.. looks like the rockets dont figure to be big players for Barry

Good, at 32 years old he's not anywhere near that kind of money, especially for that long.

For 4 years I wouldnt want brent barry, hes too old to get a 4 year contract. But he would be worth every penny of the MLE. This guy is a lights out shooter. His leadership is nice too. I remember the sonics started to lose big time once he went down with his hand injury. He was basically the glue for their team.
