Not sure if I'll watch it...the previews look interesting, but Mel is crazy...But that being said, i'll have to do more research on whether the movie is good...
Half of Hollywood is made up of assclowns, adulterers, pedos, sluts, pricks, etc. I couldn't watch a damned thing if I based my viewing habits on their personal life. I'd watch it if it got a good review.
If I couldn't separate art from the artist, I wouldn't watch much that Hollywood put out. So, if I hear good reviews from friends, I'll go watch Apocalypto.
I want to see it. I'm not gonna let Mel's being a bigot come in between myself and a hopefully-good film.
I was SO disappointed when he didn't have OUTTAKES for The Passion DVD. Where's the fun in that? I hope all you dudes not wanting to see it now get a chance to see it before 2012. Yes, I'll see it. It's an effin' movie... who cares about MEL. If I cared about whom the director was, I wouldn't have seen 1/2 of Tim Burton's movies. Mayans, Aztecs, Incas... heck I have a mixture of all those mo' fo's. Mel schmel. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1W8S_0r3h3g"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1W8S_0r3h3g" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
Rimrocker: Dude. I hadn't heard anything either, but... heck, I posted the u-tube trailer for nothing? All it takes is a click, my brother.
Seconded. Mel joined the short list w/ Tom Cruise on 'Movie stars I will not contribute any money to knowingly.'
I'm curious to see this movie, but like a sheep, I'll wait to see what certain reviewers have to say about it. If they really like it, I'll probably go and if they really hate it, I definitely won't. If the reviews are mixed, well then I'm really screwed because I'll have to make up my own mind.
I've decided not to worry about what idiots the actors are. Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise, Kramer, etc. I'm just going forget about it and enjoy the movie.
yes, but if it is a movie about the mayans it is expected. there will be lots of scenes of mayan preists taking an obsidian knife to a victim, slicing open their chest and ripping out their still-beating heart and tossing the body down the pyramid steps. human sacrifice was part of their daily lives. im sure it will be a total blood-fest, and i wouldnt expect anything less. we are talking about mel gibson here. didnt you know he loves TORTURE! i will be there money in hand to see the movie this friday. i cant wait! and its not that im a mel gibson fan. its that im a huge dork for mexican history and there have been no movies about pre-spanish mayan or aztec society (i think there was a movie about the aztecs done in the 60's?). ive studied the history, traveled to several mayan sites in mexico - im really interested in this kind of stuff and the movie is right up my alley. plus it looks amazing. as for gibson, he and his holocaust-denying father obviously have some problems, but i dont care. unlike alot of people in america today, i can enjoy a work of art even if the creator is an ass, buffoon or basoon. thats what i dont get with the dixie chicks and their fanbase. did you like them for those songs they played over and over again on the radio or did you like them because you thought they shared your politics? or when ani difranco married a dude. i personally knew a couple lesbians who stopped liking her music because they felt "betrayed" by her marrying a guy. who cares? by not seperating the art from the artist you can miss out on some cool stuff.
