Pierce isn't strong enough in there for my taste. We need a big back. Mixon's a good player, and will work well with CJ & Co in our offense. Screens/passing game, wide, cutbacks, etc...But, he's not the whole enchilada. They'll see a bunch of carries, but, the question remains, WHO is going to run between the tackles?
All indications are that Pierce has looked good and done everything in his power to get the issues corrected. But it could be the typical off season positivity. Im willing to ride with Mixon and Pierce and let it play out with a healthier oline. Both have shown they can get it done.
Cam Akers should definitely get serious carries, but we need a big guy too. Hopefully Cam can chill and stay fockassed. Pierce needs to go. Joe and Cam plus at minimum a good short yardage back.
British Brooks looks like that guy. I like Mixon, Akers, Brooks and Jordan as a specialist. Pierce doesn't fit this scheme very well, I think he gets traded or cut potentially.
I don't know how many RBs they typically carry. If 4, then I'm in full agreement. If only three, then I say try and stash Jordan on the practice squad and hope no one nabs him.
I like his versatility, but if Brooks can play special teams he's got LB size and shows the vision, cutting ability and speed to be a difference maker. Would rather take a chance on his development, but we'll see what the coaches do.
