Compared to San Fermin in Pamplona, Mardi Gras in New Orleans is Amateur Hour.

I couldn't remember any places in particular from when Ilived there, so I asked my mom for suggestions...
So take a look for that maybe... I ate at Bubba Gump's one time, that was a nice lil' place, ate out doors in a courtyard... aaah Love New Orleans....

See what I posted above. ACME Oyster House in the Quarter is good for gumbo and boudan, but you will be paying tourist prices. Better to get out of town where it's more downhome.

Here are the places my wife and I are planning to hit next weekend:

And of course, we'll still have to have the obligatory Beignets from Cafe DuMonde, muffalettas from Central Grocery, and po-boys from Mothers. Also, we usually have a meal at Palace Cafe prior to one parade (we get bleacher seats there), and we also usually try to hit the Bouborn house for Shrimp chipewa and Mr. B's Bistro if they're having lobster ravioli. Also, we may try to squeeze in a meal at Cobalt and/or Bayona

I can't wait! We go to Mardi Gras every year--mainly for the parades; not bourbon street. It's still one hell of a party--it's just not the ridiculousness of Bourbon street. This is the first year we'll be there for the big weekend and the BIG day (we usually go for this coming weekend--which is also loaded with awesome parades).

Be careful of the random bullets that may fly on Canal.
