There sure is a lot of red in that stadium. The court, to me, was a bit of a disappointment. It was basically red. It had Houston Rockets on the baseline/out of bounds area. What I hated was the free throw circle area was freakin' grey/silver. It would have looked better if it were white. Or at least I thought so. Maybe there was a reason it couldn't be white - I don't know.

Like I said, I'd post pics I took, but I can't since I forgot my USB transfer cable for my camera. :( I'm sure rockHEAD or someone else can post some pics tonight though.

DOD. I agree about the court. My first reaction was it is very very...eh red. Maybe it will grow on us like the logo? ;)

I just wish that the 'silver/grey' circle in the free the area was white or natural wood grain... silver/grey just doesn't look right!?

I just wish the main colors could have been red, black, and silver instead of red, white, and silver. To me the red and white is just a little too plain, but once again I'm still happy we got rid of that clown logo and pajama jerseys.

The more I see of the logo, the less I like it.

It looks like the symbol for a trendy goth band than a basketball team :( (cheers to whoever said that first). Too cutting edge.

Why can't teams stick with the good, old classic symbols :(?

Here is the blueprint of my visit.

Got there at around 130pm, so I just missed Van Gundy's interview. Parked in the garage which was free, so that would probably the last time I will be in that garage. Loved the EASY access to the building and how it towers above the street. Once we got in, i was interested in going straight to my nose bleeds seat in which I purchaesd the Yao Six Pack. As you can see with the pics below, seats arent bad at all.

Saw the cheerleaders in the aisle, but me being the shy person I was, didnt get an autograph or even a picture with them :( . Afterwards, meet up with Andymoon on the courtside to trade calenders, my Mobley for his Francis. Cool guy btw, he even gave me a calender he made and posted in the hangout a few weeks back. Checked out the half of the hardwood that was out there. IMO, I like it, its simple, no complaints.

Tried to ask around if the locker room was open for viewing and said they were not. I was pretty pissed since this is probably the ONLY time we could check it out, but said the ushers said it wasnt complete yet. Oh well. Checked out the bottom course, real busy down there with the cars on display and people buying food. Afterwards, went up the LONG escalator, checked out the view of the front access from atop. For those curious, no Hakeem statue yet, but have an idea where its going to be.

Overall, love the place. Its HUGE as hell. The only complaints I had was the confusion of which floors i was in. the level with all of the suites has a small hallway but there wont be many people there. The suites that were open to the public, didnt have any TVs yet, which was understandable, but the fridges were operating. I even opened one of the freezers and took a piece of ice out. :D Just cant wait for the season to start. Here are some pics I took:

What a horribly unimaginative court design... But I guess they couldn't really do much with that logo anyway.

This is coming from someone who loved the 1995-96 floor, so feel free to roll eyes or whatever. ;)

    Thanks for the pics!!!

"Sorry, we aren't letting people in the locker rooms today for security reasons." :(

    Ahh, that's okay.

I know Tim will make it up to us, by not making us go back to the Toyota dealership for tickets to the upcoming OPEN PRACTICE.

    Right, Tim? :D

ARENA is NICE!!! Houston has the best facilities in all sports!!!
    VERY NICE.
    Beautiful...very good view from everywhere.
Suites were decent...I wish I could have one.
But the four screens are nice and those Jamaican singers were hilarious...Bill Worrell and Calvin Murphy...got their autographs...they are really stupid to listen to live...but I still love them!
Uhhh...I tried to get into the lockerroom. I like went through a door that said No Access...with guards standing there who didn't give a crap...and we like went down these ugly stairs that looked ugly and undecorated and unfinished compared to everything else. And haha...I got to the bottom and I opened this door...and all these janitors and cooks and ushers were just standing there. I couldn't find the dressing room!!!!! :( I thought we could get to see it.
And the Hot Shot Contest...all of those guys sucked...Mr. Lee won. I could have beat him....The announcer was annoying.
    Good nachos...
Oh yeah..Clutch the Bear is totally stupid...those high flying jumping guys were good.
Arena is great! Too bad I didn't see Patrick Ewing...was he there?
And what happened with the clinic?
The parking garage takes a lot of time to unload...but the skylevel access bridge is awesome.
I got on the court...very bright...pretty tough to play basketball in front of 18,300 people and national television and those BRIGHT LIGHTS.
Hmm..and I was wearing a black and red Houston Rockets shirt...they weren't selling them there...a couple people asked me where I got mine...and yeah...I went with like 5 other friends...somebody at CC.net must have seen me! I saw 3 people from church and 7 people from my school there...

    Arena is nice...
