    That rocked, Kam.
Man, I am so jealous of all of you getting to go to the open house. And here I am, stuck in Austin. :(

Let the poor smucks like myself know what ClutchCity.net'ers think about the new digs. I'll have to wait until I can come for a game. (which I can't wait to do!)

Okay, time for me to talk about the arena.

I went, and arrived at about 12:45.

I've driven past TC hundreds of times before, but now I actually get to go in.

I parked off Austin and Leeland I think. BTW, I think the garage was open, people were parking in the garage. I don't know if it was free or not.

I entered the arena near Polk, and LaBranch. As soon as I walked in, WOW.  :D .

Very nice. We got our little red bags with a magnet, seating diagram, calender poster, and some other crap. I forgot.

The first thing I did was walk into the arena. I sat in section 108 for a bit. The seating is niiiice. It is plush, and comfy. THe seats are big, and that is a good thing for Houston because Houstonians are FAT. According to some magazine. Anyhoo, JVG was taken questions from fans. Some were stupid questions, some were good questions.

This one guy asked a question about Steve and Cuttino Dribbling too much, and the crowed went crazy and appluaded the question.

He was like eh, If I was to trade Steve, there would be 28 other teams to make an offer.

No people, this is not a rumor you heard from JVG. He is using steve as an example.

When he was done, he went back to the locker room. Apperently, we are switching benches. They are moving to the left side of the scoring table.

When JVG went to the bench some people asked him for some autographs and he shrugged them off like he doesn't sign them or something.

I saw the suites, and they are nice. Very Nice. Infact, they already had ice in the ice machine, and no, I did not find slime in the ice machine. I forgot to go look at the party suite.

The restaurant place is nice. I like it. I don't think I'll be there.

The supertowers are just that. Towers. It was just covering pipes. Maybe they should do something with it. Like hang a huge poster of Yao or any of the Rocket's player.

The Scoreboard is nice. Infact, anything was better than what the scoreboard was at Compaq Center. I wish it was an eight sided one like in the United Center or the Garden. But it is still nice. I still like how it was.

I like the screen board things that run around the arena. Those things are envouge in every arena today.

I went way the hell up in the nose bleed seats. Those seats are fning scary. I was up in the way corner of the building. Some Power dancers were there signing autographs. Woo. I just looked at them saying they were hot (in my head of course) but I've met one six years ago, big deal now.

The seats are nice up there. But the seats are very steep to each other. Instead of kicking the back of their chair, you are going to kick the back of their head. I can already see the fights at the top of the top of the tippity top of the arena.

The top concourse wasn't done yet. Infact, some of the elevators were not done yet.

They still have tickets available. I saw the price, and I guess they are reasonable. I am not going to have any money to fix my brakes though. Brakes, or tickets. I don't know. I guess I better get my brakes fixed.

I think they still have some in the 400 sections which are nice seats.

The only Toyota Vehicles i saw was a Corolla, an MR2 Spyder, and a Scion xB. I think it was the xB.

    One thing that upset me.

Where were the damn Championship Banners?

That was all I remember. I'll post again.

In all fairness to JVG, he had stood near the side with the entertainment stage for several minutes signing autographs earlier. He probably signed over 100 autographs. I can understand why he would later reject the autographs since the guy's hand was probably about to fall off. Add to that if he signed those 1 or 2 more, he'd be swamped with more requests. He also posed for pictures with CD and talked and joked with the fans down on the court earlier.

The practice court that you can view the players practicing is a pretty sweet view from the street level. They were in the process of laying down the Rockets' logos and other markings on the floor when rockHEAD and I got there. The goals in the practice court were not up yet.

They appear to have sold a lot more tickets than I thought since I didn't see as many empty seats as I thought. By empty what I mean is that some of the seats were tagged as being available for half-season plans or other plans. There were far fewer of these available than I thought. The center lower bowl seats are pretty much gone from the looks of it. There are some in the corners though. rockHEAD, pradaxpimp, and I sat in the 2nd section of seats (right below the nose bleeds. I think rockHEAD said these were $30 seats. The view from there was great. We didn't try out the $10 nosebleeds. I swear, I sat in those seats on the 2nd level and just wished I still lived in Houston. I'd buy season tickets for sure. :(

The screens and displays over center court were awesome. The lighting was somewhat dimmer in the seats in the upper section, but to me, they were perfect. I'd rather be in that lighting than the bright lighting down below.

One of the down points was walking around the food vendors areas and noticing that some of their signs were already missing letters. One of them had fallen off and another's was just plain missing. I was like "y'all spent $200 bajillion and couldn't get some damn duct tape or super glue?!" ;)

rockHEAD and I wanted to take a tour of the locker rooms, but they said they weren't ready yet or there were still some construction issues. Bummer.

No other Rockets showed up while we were there other than JVG, CD, and I think CD's wife. There were some of the assistant coaches, too. Double bummer.

Beware of the escalators from heaven... they have these escalators that I swear stop 1 floor below Mars. They go forever.

The power dancers are cuter in person than on a dang website. :D

I took some pics of the stadium as did rockHEAD, but I won't be able to upload mine until tomorrow since I left my USB transfer cable for my camera at home.
